However, a group of women who boarded the NAPA Valley Wine Train were told to tone down their loud laughing or else they would be escorted off the train. Officals on the the train said the women were disturbing other passengers with their laughing, but the women of the group said they felt singled out because they were Black. Even though it was duly noted that they were kindly asked to keep down the noise. The women are members of a book club called Sisters of the Reading Edge had been planning their trip since November 2014 but their trip was interrupted for laughing out loud. The police were called and the 12 group of women were escorted for disorderly laughing. Most of the group said they felt humiliated. One member of the group posted her reactions on Facebook which attracted attention nationally. The women were refunded for their train tickets. One source of the media said the women will be rescheduled to finish the train ride on another scheduled day.
