GEORGIA TRANS WOMAN SUES PRISON SYSTEM AGAIN AFTER REPEATED RAPES (1987 hits)
Fans of the show “Orange Is The New Black,” have watched the struggles character Sophia Burset endures in prison, whether it’s being denied hormones or being abused by other inmates.
While she has her challenges, life is much easier for her character than it is for other trans inmates. Like so many trans women, 36-year-old Ashley Alton Diamond is living in a men’s prison. Diamond, who was imprisoned in 2012 for a series of burglary and theft convictions, has alleged that her status as a trans woman has made her the victim of repeated rapes from male prisoners.
As a result Diamond alleged that she has attempted suicide and even tried to castrate herself with a razor.
Later, Diamond told a federal court, “I would rather die” than be raped again. She added that the assaults made her “feel a little less than human-like.”
In addition to the physical assaults on her body, Diamond is being abused psychologically and emotionally in that she is being denied hormone treatments by the state prison, ensuring that her body will transition back to that of a man.
You have some great topics here. Trans gender. I was involved in a case situation similar to this. The complaint is rgoing through transformation to female and wants to use her company's ladies facility... Feels that she's being discriminated. Wellto make a complicated story short... She in the eyes of blind justice says that he is a man... I'm a firm advocate for the LGBT Trans gender community... We still have a long way to go.

I think they should either accommodate Transgender ppl or give them their own bathrooms, jails, etc...
Special accommodations ...Jen that would spark a new set of debates! LOL!

Trust me, when ppl are asked to spend money to build separate but equal bathrooms or jails, they end up finding the simpler, more cost effective solutions or simpler solution... give our transgendered Americans dignity.
I follow you.... I agree if they have gone through the entire process along with corresponding genitalia... I agree! But if. She's female on top and male at the bottom .... I think I may have some concerns... 😮😦
