Motown Inspired: Keep Believing in Yourself by Practicing These 3 Things (1888 hits)

It seems just a short time ago my niece, Allison was in town and we spent time together.

We talked about her aspirations. She is a fabulous singer and actress.

Over time, we talked about her faith and meditation, as she appeared On Broadway in “Motown the Musical,” “The Book of Mormons,” and in other touring performances including “The Color Purple.” I knew of her struggles, especially being on the road constantly.

Today, she is back in Los Angeles. This time starring as Diana Ross in “Motown the
Musical,” at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. She was hand-picked to play the role by Barry Gordy.

In our profession as trainers and authors, Walter and I get to meet a lot of different people in all walks of life. The successful people have character traits that are always the same. They are three things I have observed in Allison and others who are at the top of their game in life.

Believe In Yourself to Follow Your Dreams

What I love about Allison is not just her talent, it’s her belief in herself.
During my years as a network publicist, I was around a lot of people with talent. Many could not get their careers off the ground. There was a lack of confidence missing.

Despite show business being competitive, the successful people, even behind the camera, did not focus on the opposition. They focused on the goal.

No matter what field you are in, the successful people in your field believe in themselves.
They believe in themselves despite the obstacles, and how long it is taking them to reach their goals. They don’t focus on time.
