The Lady Is A Leader-And She's A Mother (897 hits)

The Lady Is A Leader…And She’s A Mother

Being a mother is one of the most precious gifts, which has been bestowed upon a woman. I also realize there are some women, who may never experience the joy of swollen feet, morning sickness, and let us never forget the hormonal swings which cause those who walk into our environment to enter with caution!

However,  being a mother has so much more value than ever imagined.  A mother can hear a group of children screeching and can determine the sound of her child above all others.  A mother will forsake her basic needs so that her child can have the best of items, she only imagined as a child.

A mother which may have read the numerous books on motherhood,  or viewed the various video presentations in preparation of being the best mother one could possibly be.  What is humorous is when the child comes to you with a “boo-boo” at an early age or an “issue” at a later age, all of the verbiage read or videos viewed, goes out the window and instincts set in.  A hug or a kiss replaces an antibiotic or a 5 step remedy.

Unfortunately,  there is another side of the coin which I must address.  This is the lady which had a baby and does not possess the maternal instincts, the lady which did not bond with the infant or the lady which was so wounded with the areas of hurt which transpired before or during the birth.

There’s also the lady which knew for circumstances beyond her control  it would be best to gift her infant to someone whom she feels would provide a better environment or lifestyle to the precious bundle of joy.

We must not and cannot mention the lady who in the first, second or third trimester of pregnancy felt life within her, only to bring forth a baby with no life.  There are no words to speak into her spirit, which at the moment she hears.  She only hears the deafening silence of no cries or coos.

How do you explain to the lady, who after time and time again of attempting to conceive finally hears the words, that she will never be able to conceive or carry a child in her womb?  How do we speak a word which will ease the blow or comfort this lady who has heard that it takes bringing a child into the world to be a mother?

“In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the Lord.” I Samuel 1:10

As Lady Leaders there are times when we speak, what we’ve heard.  We make statements which we may think sound good,  but is it beneficial?  The scripture states Hannah was in bitterness of soul , she was wounded, and hurting.  Her heart was heavy  and she wept much!  Yet she also prayed to the Lord.  As a Lady Leader, we may have seen one of our sisters in a state of bitterness, and anger.  A state of not understanding how could they be in this state of mind.  I believe we are commissioned as Lady Leaders to give her liberty to cry much! There is a Christian artist who sings a song entitled Cry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIa-4nv0bDk).  This song has lyrics which speak to the heart of many…”Go ahead and cry, it’s alright..” Yes Hannah prayed to the Lord, the scripture does not give us the time period, between the weeping and the praying.

There are numerous women, who may never carry a child within their womb, but their heart is so full of love and compassion.  These women speak to the hearts of many of us.  They carry our tears and they carry our fears.  They speak to our visions, and invest in our lives.  These are Lady Leaders and they are also mothers in the most intimate sense of the word.

During this the month we celebrate mothers,  let’s be reminded it is not the physical womb which makes a mother, but the spiritual bond and the intimacy formed within relationships nurtured and provoked by our Lord and Savior.
