An Alabama man is freed after being convicted of the two murders of resturant killings. Anthony Ray Hinton, was freed after serving nearly 30 years on death row on April 03, 2015 After receiving a trial in 1985 Hinton was sentence by evidence of bullets used in the shooting, but none of the bullets matched the gun found in the possession of Hinton's home.
During the entire time of his sentence, Hinton maintained he was innocent. His release was due not to a through connection of the murder case and he was set free. Hinton's lawyer claimed that much of conviction was due to the unafforablity to me meet the need for legal counsel. The US Supreme Court ruled that he did not have enough for representation at his first trial and at his second trial released him to his freedom. Hinton, remarked "Thank you Jesus" as he was greeted by his family and friends. Hinton was convicted in 1985 and is now 58 years old.
