"I said it was a religion with "false gods"--Sheryl Nuxoll
Sheryl Nuxoll a Cottonwood Republican, and Idaho Senator, along with several others boycotted the opening prayer before the Idaho Senate floor from a Reno Cleric who gave a Hindu prayer on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Later, she spoke with reporters saying that Hindiuism was a false religion with false gods. Nuxoll explained that she didn't mean to indicate; or say that the religion of Hinduism was false, but it was based on beliefs of "false gods". This prompted the Episcopal Bishop of Nevada and other religious leaders to called for her give an public apology. However, Nuxoll refused an apology saying additionally, "I'm not going to give an apology." Others opting her apology are a Unification Church leader, Roman Official of the Catholic Diocease in Reno, and Rabbi and Jewish leaders in Nevada and California.
Dan Black, Director of Boise Institute of Buddist Studies remarked on Ms. Nuxoll being as public official; it is highly inapproiate and insenative to call a major religion false-- and to show her words were hurtful, she should apologize. Nuxoll went on to say that she felt to abstain from the prayer because she said "I am not going to be praying to false gods..."I am a believer, like Mother Teresa and that everybody should be the best they can." Nuxoll also expressed that Rajan Zed, the Hindu Cleric who prayed can say his prayer anywhere he wants in the Capital. She went on to say relating to the Constitution --that it is a Christian Nation based on Christian principals. "It would of been fine if we had also had a Christian prayer, she added. However, many oppose that the finding of a Christain nation is not based on the Constitution. "She is wrong." said Professor of David Alder from Boise State University who teaches the constitution; for her to claim this and adding regarding to that statement-- Republican Nuxoll has betrayed the very constitutional of legistrative prayer--religious pluralism.

Jeni, I found this very supportive verse today... it reads.. "Put on the complete suit of armor from God that you may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the the Devil, because we have a wrestling not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against authorities, against world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places." NWT of the Holy Scriptures. Stand firm indeed!
