It's that time again...This year the signs of spring has winter bringing its snowstorms. At home in Memphis on March 05, we were doused with around seven inches of snow in some places. Schools were closed as well as many locales. There was plenty of sliding, and Memphis is said to be having some record low temperatures too.
So what's going on with gardeners? That all depends where you're living. If you haven't had time to make a landscape of your soon to come planting, start with that; if you can. If weather permits you may do some ground breaking for a vegetable, or flower bed. If not, you can draw in the time of snow with places you want to plant things. For those who are off work due the beautiful scenes of snow and want to conduct time in making plans for the rest of March 2015; here are few things you do if weather permits...:
Check tool supplies: Be stocked with tools you'll need to purchase, also check to see if your tools need replacing, or sharpening.
Make a list: If you'll be needing dirt for potted plants, new pots, fertilizer and so on make your list while you're enjoying the snow.
Weeds: Weeds will come soon as well as grass on your lawn. You may want to begin thinking about products and even lawn care specials to help ahead of time. If you use a lawn care person or service, make calls to have them come and evaluate your special requests.
Compost: If you have saved compost from the last season, think of ways and places best for your beds, or gardens.
Miscellenous: There may be other things you'll need to consider, so don't overlook other special things it takes to make your garden pleasurable.
Well it's been quite a experience to look at the beautiful snow. It's so gorgeous! I don't know about you, but I've my eyes set to see some beautiful blooms and delightful fresh grown vegetables...
