CROWN PRINCE OF THAILAND STRIKES NAME OF WIFE'S RELATIVES (300 hits)

The Royal Prince of Thai has written a letter to the Thai government which will strike the use of a family name given to the relatives of his wife. The letter was submitted on Friday, November 28, 2014. Three relatives of Princess Srirasm were arrested last week in connection with participating in a corruption probe. In addition, there were also arrests involving policemen who are accused of bribery and extortion. The relatives of the Princess received the surname of "Akiapongpreecha" shortly after the Royal couple were married in 2001. However, the reasons the Prince is striking the surname is not clear, but speculation it is related to their recent activity with the police department. Thailand's has also a law that persons defaming the monarchy could face up to 15 years in prison. As far as the three relatives of the princess, law makers will be investigating their cases and determining their trials. The three relatives of Princess Srirasm were involved with high ranking officers of the police department . At least eight of the police officers were arrested as well. Investigations are undergoing in the corruption case.
