WHAT THE TAXI DRIVER WHO DROVE EBOLA PATIENT TO HOSPITAL SAYS WILL SCARE YOU (2805 hits)

October 3, 2014

The Liberian taxi driver who drove Texas Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan with his sick pregnant friend said the lady was so sick, “she was not able to walk by herself.” It is believed Duncan contracted the deadly virus during this cab ride.

Jiminez Grugbaye told NBC News earlier this week that Duncan requested help for his pregnant friend, Natahaline Williams, who had been suffering from Ebola, and had denied that Williams had Ebola, saying the problem was only related to the miscarriage.

“I decided to ask him to intervene a bit as to regarding this sickness, what type of sickness it really was, and she told me and reassured me it was not the Ebola thing, it was like abortion.

Grugbaye affirmed he had “no idea” the pregnant girl had Ebola, and told NBC News there were a total of six people in his taxi, himself included. He also said Williams had blood coming out of her mouth.

“No no no, no idea at all… I saw her, she was helpless. She was not able to walk by herself, she was assisted by her family and the nurses that was taking care of her, and they accompanied her into my taxi at the back seat. She was accompanied by three persons. One nurse, the mother, and one other gentlemen, who somehow related to her as a husband. There were four at the back. Mr. Duncan, I don’t know him personally… he was in the front seat with me.

“On the initial stage, she had a slight blood from her mouth, little bit. Then I asked told me that because for the girl’s situation, she chewed her tongue a bit, that what resulted to all the bleeding. But she did not vomit.”

He said he went to two or three hospitals and one clinic. The Daily Mail reports Williams died a few days after being hospitalized, and her brother, who was also in the taxi, died a few days later. Her parents are in the hospital right now, as they were also in the cab.

Another patient in Washington, D.C. is being evaluated with Ebola symptoms.

The Obama administration and federal public health officials are facing scrutiny for their apparent indifference in their reaction to the Ebola crisis, specifically after Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), told Joe Scarborough Thursday, in regard to the oversight at the hospital which did not diagnose Duncan, that “we need to put that behind us.”
