Medgar Evers College and the New Legacy Leaders Project invite the community to a special panel discussion on mental health and well-being. The New Legacy Leaders Project, “an innovative wellness and prosperity initiative, dedicated to raising awareness for resources that support healthy minds and bodies,” works to make it easier for people of color to find the help they need to sustain their physical and mental health.
A Talk with Terrie M. Williams: “The Journey to Healing & Harmony Within,” will be presented by Terrie M. Williams – best-selling author, entrepreneur and inspirational speaker. She has served as the public relations and talent force behind some of today’s top entertainers and business moguls, including Eddie Murphy, Prince, Sean “Puffy” Combs and many more. Madeline McCray, actress, author of Healthy Women Rock, A Dream to Fly and co-founder of the New Legacy Leaders Project, will serve as the moderator of the panel discussion. Forum panelists include sports fitness specialist and nutrition expert Terahshea McCray, Dion Ashman, President of Our Gang Productions and Dr. Hollie Jones, Deputy Chairperson of the Department of Psychology at Medgar Evers College.
Ms. Williams’ books, which focus on providing guidance and encouragement for individuals experiencing depression and other life challenges, include: Black Pain: It Just Looks Like We’re Not Hurting;A Plentiful Harvest: Creating Balance and Harmony Through the Seven Living Virtues; and Stay Strong: Simple Life Lessons for Teens. She has received a number of awards and recognitions, including being named one of Ebony magazine’s “Power 150” for activism and one of Woman’s Day magazine’s “50 Women on a Mission to Change the World,” and she is dedicated to improving the quality of life for African-Americans in this country.
