JUKEBOX SALUTES WOMEN HISTORY As so many firsts of Women in History there is still much more women have conquered. Strong, devoted women and women of persistence and courage are steadily making firsts in the world of discoveries and technologies. Women continue to be firsts showing that there is a woman very capable for firsts in everything attainable. This month of Women's History I salute to firsts of women and the encouraging history we have made throughout the entire world. We sing and rejoice to God's glory because he made us and . . . cause I am a woman I sing!
Focus Guest: Roberta Flack, Singer, Jazz professional, Grammy Winner
I Roberta Flack was born into a family of musicians and took to the discover of music at a very young age. I credit my admiration to listening to beautiful songs of glory by Mahalia Jackson and Sam Cooke. I attended Harvard University where I earned a music degree and spent some part of my life teaching as a professor of music. I also have won a Grammy my first for the song "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." I continued with several hits over the years of my career-- and continue today with conducting music tours. As I have had my struggles with becoming know, it did take the first very time to sing such a lovely song until this day is a favorite of women, men and children. . . . Cause I am a Woman I sing the First Time...
