Glenn Ford, Black Man Wrongfully Convicted By White Jury, Freed After Nearly 3 Decades On Death Row (1073 hits)
The key sentence in this article is "the prosecution withheld evidence"! The walls read "Halls of Justice" but how can this be when prosecutors only care about convictions and the absolute irony of it is they will convict someone knowing a guilty person is still free to kill someone else. Yet, the swear they are making the community safe by putting a killer on 'death row'! This justice system of so full of 'elephant dung' it is sickening.
Quote: "Ford's newly found justice comes well behind schedule but it will also come with some financial help from the state of Louisiana. According to the Innocence Project, the state pays the wrongfully incarcerated $25,000 for each year in prison with a cap of $250,000. "
Though no amount of money can make up for the loss of time, this man deserves millions. $250,000 is a slap in the face. I pray for the thousands of innocent people who are wrongfully convicted and imprisoned; especially black men.
