Celebrations are on-going as FAT TUESDAY is just a few hours away. This year's celebration of Mardi Gras started on February 15th. However, the finale of Fat Tuesday has all the elevated fun seekers waiting to see the crowds gather. It's that day where they all gather in costume and a night of parties and memories. Thousands flock to New Orleans each year and this year appears to be also another one for the books. Parades are getting ready and music, food and almost anything goes!
The issue of Mardi Gras beads which makes their way around the crowds are on the list for take homers to recycle. Collectors have so many that often they exceed the amount they really need. Now, after the events a group is collecting and taking up unwanted beads to recycle. Many participants are urged to surrender if they have more than a needed collection of supply. The Arc of Greater New Orleans will be happy to take those beads and contribute it back to the next year's event, this saves money and also helps the environment with recycling. If you're down there, look for The Arc recycling bins and give up some of your beads.
