The game of international cricket may be seldom heard of in the United States, but in India there is a legacy made by pros of the game. India's President Pranab Mukherjee presented the country's highest civilian honor to the Bharat Ratna to legend Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar left the international game in November after winning over the West Indies in Mumbai.
The award is the first for Tendulkar and is the first sportsman to win the prestigious award of the country. Tendulkar expressed his commitment to bat for India even though cricket has stopped.
