MEMPHIS TOWN WAS CHILLY COLD TO THE BONE BUT UTILITIES CUSTOMERS THE POWER WAS TURNED ON January 04, 2014 Memphis, TN
Hundreds, or maybe even thousands of MLGW utilities customers which were turned off had the opportunity to be reconnected if theY acted quickly. That's because the utility provider was willing to turn back on the power during those chilly cold days if the customer could come up with only $225.00. The rest of the unpaid bills will be worked out to be paid over a 6 months period. This special offer was for those who were turned off, and not for customers whose service has not been disconnected. In an effort to provide warmth and safety for freezing cold temps the campaign lasted thru Monday, January 6, 2014. Hundreds of the cut off customers took advantage to the workable solution by showing up to pay the amount requested and make effort to pay the remaining fees. If you didn't catch this deal it's gone.
It's Hometown gratitude to have a power company willing to turn back on power just to be concerned for non-paying customers, and those who could pay for genuine hardship! That's two thumbs up!!

Save the Park!
That's what a large group of hundreds yelled to save the troubled Autozone Baseball Park in down town Memphis. The group of fans and conservationists wanted to keep Autozone Park open and operational for future Redbirds games as well as other functions as the owners were offering to sale the building. The Memphis City Council voted to buy the park for several million dollars. This made the group cry out cheers, but not without some criticisms as some Memphians believe it is another waste of taxpayers monies to purchase another place which has shown very little revenue. The council voted to save and buy the park on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Well it's looks as this will be going on a little bit longer.
