Food4Thought:vote (606 hits)

2014 Midterm elections begin in November, it is imperative that we all get out and vote, don't believe the hype, if our votes didn't matter there wouldn't be so many forces trying to suppress our vote, we've been battling an oppressive system far to long, it's time for us to help change this broken system from the inside out, that begins with our, "VOTE", let's make it happen people!

vote doesn't work. because the vote, without other civic activities to determine issues and candidates for office, is largely a fool’s errand. Nevertheless, voting is important. Why do you think your adversary seeks to keep you divided on the issue even as you speak of unity and illegalities? It was once illegal for us to assemble to talk about making changes to this system, with the notable exception of church meetings. And this we did for generations. We practiced voting for issues and leaders to support those issues in church before it was legal for us to do so in context of civil rights. One of those church issues was the right to vote. However, the right to vote is just a PART of the actions required for change. The most important part is to be involved in the process of selecting for WHOM to vote. Some folks actually voted for a cat to be their mayor and we do a similar thing when we vote without discretion. Pulling the lever on a voting machine is not a magic wand that INSTANTLY brings about a desired outcome. It takes WORK on part of not just the candidate for office, but for the voter as well. Civil resistance and disobedience to unjust laws are another part. The claim that voting did nothing for us, is true IF it is not coupled with other civic activity. You are free to complain and deny that fact in open forum, with written response that required reading to process; all rights denied to too many generations, but changed by civil disobedience and the boycott coupled with the VOTE. That being said; the midterm elections are very important, so it should come as no surprise that trolls would visit ANY site suggesting a heavy turnout for liberal candidates.
