YOUR WORLD NEWS DAY 06 AUGUST Year of Our Lord 2013 Yokohama, JP
Japan has finally made a big point when it comes to warships. Unveiling one of it's biggest warship since World War II a huge flat-top destroyer raised curiosity in China and the rest of the world as well. The big ship is called Izumo.
Izumo's deck is said to be measured at 820 feet long and is designed to carry up to 14 helicopters. Japan has said Izumo will part of it's national defense planes. The huge war floatilla is designed to conduct anti-submarine warfare and surveillance missions. This also gives a big booster to the nation's ability to transport personnel and supplies on a large scale in case of natural disasters of earthquakes and tsunamis.
The warship has been in it's making since 2009 and was unveiled on; August 06, 2013; as Japan and China locked over a dispute involving several claims on small islands located between southern Japan and Taiwan. The tensions over the islands has both Japan and China spending monies over defense to become ownership over the islands since they both claim they are the owners. If Izumo is to be used, its main purpose may be to launch fighter jets, or aircrafts that can be launched vertically. Japan indicated they have no plans to use the ship in that manner.
BIG SHIP! Reminds me of the Titanic! We've watched that story Sank;
