U. S. News & World Report releases “Best Hospitals” rankings (324 hits)

JUL 23, 2013 U.S. News & World Report recently released its 24th annual Best Hospitals rankings, recognizing hospitals that excel in providing patients high level of care. Johns Hopkins Hospital reclaimed the number 1 spot on the Honor Roll, a position it held from 1991 through 2011 but was bested by Massachusetts General Hospital. Mass General ranked second this year and Mayo Clinic in Rochester was third.
U.S. News ranks up to 50 hospitals in each of 16 respective medical specialties. Overall, 147 out of nearly 5,000 U.S. hospitals earned national ranking in one or more of the specialties. U.S. News has also updated its regional rankings, which highlight high-performing hospitals in each state and nearly 100 metropolitan areas.
