13 people perished in train explosion. At least 37 still missing.
At least 36 hours of burning continues as a runaway train carrying crude oil ignited and shook the town and neighborhoods of Lac Megantic, Quebec. At the time of this story at least 13 people have perished and 37 are reported missing. Investigators are wondering what happened, but have not given an definitive clues of details of the train accident. Since it is an oil fire, the flames of at least one oil container are still burning and has inhibiitied a through search for bodies. The train was said to hurled at a fast speed when it derailed and impacted with blasts of explosions lasting over more than an hour. Total cars said to be in the accident totaled to at least 73 cars. In the center town, buildings were flattened and quickly burned. Firemen and rescue teams worked diligently. Many family members have been asked to bring in any information on possible missing relatives. The accident occured around 1 a.m. Canadian time.
STORY UPDATE: On July 10, 2013 new investigations revealed there is foul play as in connection with a murder scene. Law officials have discovered sabotage which caused the derailment were intended to cover up a murder. More details may be detected as investigations continue.
So much tragedy in the world. My heart felt prayers go out to those families of those that died and those who are missing. It is believed the train was going 40 miles per hour insted of the usually 10 to 20 miles per hour. Hopefully there will be new laws passed regarding petrol products being transported so closely to residential areas.

Death toll in Lac-Megantic train derailment now at 28 Twenty-eight people are now confirmed dead following the train derailment in Lac-Megantic, Que., police in Quebec confirmed Friday afternoon. Another 22 people are presumed dead.
