Several years ago I visited a small church which was honoring women of righteous work. It was served with a breakfast and talks and flowers. However, I being a guest to speak poetry brought also my pail and equipment to wash feet. This site seemed strange to many of the women, because never had anyone washed their feet. There were some young daughters and mothers who jumped for the opportunity, and I could see also reluctant women who said; they would never wash feet of anybody. Yet, as setting an example of our Lord it is one practice of humility. Perhaps, you won't have a pail of water, or a towel like I implied but the gift of washing feet is great case of humility. Washing feet to help others to give conscious of God's work with you among others. Washing feet by setting examples of your life's gift and freely giving what time you can to share your talents without a price. Displaying love. This can be attain by meditation of devotion to the WORD. What you'll discover is a pathway of humility that pleases God. In humility He will lift you as a servant over many.
"For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men especially those who believe." 1 Timothy: 4:10
"Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established." Proverbs: 16:3
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed for I am thy God." Isaiah: 37:6
Washing feet, may be looked upon as degrading, but the meditation of the Word provides strength will causes our service of purpose to be a beautiful gift and others will receive your special offering because you have meditated on the Lord to please Him.
Let the words of my mouth the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy site O' Lord my strength and my redeemer. Psalm: 19:14
"Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days the words by the mouth of prophets." Zech: 8:9
I wash feet at every opportunity given! Often in meditation sessions when I have new attendees. It is a wonderful service of sharing with others. I never wish to give it up!
