Mama Obama Don't Play! First lady’s reaction to heckler appropriate and understandable By Diana Reese (1187 hits)
I don’t blame first lady Michelle Obama for her response to a heckler at a private fundraiser for the Democratic Party Tuesday. [First Lady] Obama was in the middle of an impassioned speech about the changes that her husband has worked toward to improve the lives of our children. She was saying, “Right now, today, we have an obligation to stand up for those kids. And I don’t care what you believe in, we don’t –”.
When she was rudely interrupted.
The first lady continued, “One of the things I don’t do well is this.” Then she left the podium to confront the heckler, face-to-face. Some claim what followed was a childish temper tantrum on the part of the first lady. I say she stood up for herself and for the paying audience’s right to hear the rest of her remarks. The audio from the event is difficult to make out, but according to the pool reporter at the event, [First Lady] Obama said, “Listen to me or you can take the mike, but I’m leaving. You all decide. You have one choice.”
The heckler was escorted out and [Mama] Obama returned to her speech. “So let me make the point that I was making before: We are here for our kids.” The audience applauded.

AWESOME!!! But yep MRS. FLOTUS don't play. It's amazing how she has come out more and more as a good speaker... Remember during the campaign when she'd make comments that didn't set rite with the press.... and they ate her up!! Ha!
Yes, there's a time and place for everything. I don't know if I would hold the organizers responsible for the heckler to the point that I wouldn't want to finish delivering my message. That would be devastating for someone else's action. Therefore, I'm glad she gave thought and returned to continue. We can not control the actions of anyone. However, I'm glad she spoke up because as you know we as women don't in most cases. Hummmm, I think I would have said the same using her exact same words about not being here for this and then I would wait and give pause for the organizers to escort this person out. This window of silence sends a lot of messages and I call it "Grace", something we learn as we go into elder hood. Trust me, she thought about it later that it wasn't fair to the group whose purpose for having her there would have not benefited if she walked and let her emotions take control. Something says, call it intuition... First Lady would have put the beat down on that heckler if it came to dat! What we don't get to see is the fire in Mama Obama's eyes and the fear of God that she put into that other woman. All we hear is the audio. Ha!

Yeah, I do believe the mop attendent was summoned right after she was dragged away (for her own good). The diaper she was wearing suddenly needed to be changed (due to the unexpected confrontation/reaction).
'Sister Obama' is needed here for 'Us as well as the Kids'...safety first, ya'll! I'm pretty sure that Brother Obama was pretty sore, albeit, proud, when he got the news. Let us not forget, there are a lot of sneaky pete's out there who don't like 'Our First family'...they didn't like the 'Kennedy's' either(and they aint Black), did they.
I've had a nice big laugh and enjoyed this just as much as the rest of you..but we aint playin games here. Less We Forget, This is America!
Hear ye, Hear ye! I do not worry about Moma Obama....hell. Don't go messing with her security detail(SS)...or she will kick your arse. Looool! Maybe she got a little bit of "Annie Oakley"...in her. :-)
