53 women with type 2 diabetes and 49 with impaired glucose intolerance were involved in a fecal collection study which concluded a finding of a gut microbes which could be linked to the cause of type 2 diabetes. Particular type of bacteria in the human digestive system was stated that can positive indicate if type 2 diabetes may occur. The research involved only women 70 years of age and additional 49 women who were healthy. The team research doctor, of the Scandinavian team Dr. Bankhed headed the studies. Still undergoing research the teams said that combinations of the microbes still requires more study, and that age, ethnicity and background will be examined in many of the DNA samples from the fecal study. However, the research embarks new findings that may be lending links to a hopeful cure.
