NBA Legend Michael Jordan Gets Married to Model Girfriend Yvette Prieto (1336 hits)
After five years of dating, Michael Jordan, 50, Charlotte Bobcats owner and legendary retired basketball player, married Cuban-American model, Yvette Prieto, 35, in Palm Beach, Fla., on Saturday. Five hundred family members and friends arrived by tour bus for the nuptials, which took place at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea, the same church where Donald Trump married Melania in 2005. In attendance were former New York Knick, Patrick Ewing; one time Chicago Bulls team mate, Scottie Pippen; film maker, Spike Lee; and golf great, Tiger Woods, along with family, fans, and other friends. The lovely, beaming bride wore an ecru-colored gown by J'Aton Couture with handmade silk lace, accented by Swarovski crystals, and the dark, handsome groom wore a black tuxedo. The reception location was near Jordan's new, 38,000 square foot home in Jupiter, Fla., near the elite Bear's Club, a private golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, CBS.com reported. More than 1,500 invited guests enjoyed an all white, seven-layer white rum cake. Reportedly, three tents, which spanned the size of two football fields, contained the post-nuptial celebration. Guests were entertained by Robin Thicke, Usher, K'Jon, DJ MC Lyte, and The Source. An unidentified source said, “They've been planning for months and months . . . he wanted to give Yvette everything she's ever wanted,” People.com reported. The two were reportedly seen attending the wedding rehearsal on Friday. Jordan proposed to Prieto during the 2011 Christmas holidays and the couple applied for their marriage license at the Palm Beach county court house in March 2013. Jordan has three grown children with Juanita Vanoy to whom he was married to for 17 years. They separated in 2002, citing irreconcilable differences, then reconciled prior to divorcing in 2006. Reportedly, Vanoy received a $168 million divorce settlement which was then the largest one on public record. Reference links are embedded in the text of the article.
