TOP COUNT IN MEDALS WON BY U.S.A. A MOMENT IN TIME! Top 5 winners...
The teams of U.S.A. lead the medal counts at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London as they top scored a total of 104 medals. 46 was all gold. This was also a record for most golds won by USA away from home. They also led in the silver medal by taking home 29 and 29 bronze. China came in second taking home 38 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze totaling 88 and Russia made it 82 medals 24 gold and the host Great Britian won 29 gold with a total of 65. Congrats to all teams!
WOMEN REPRESENTED AT THE SUMMER GAMES
Throughout all the competiton, it was notable among women atheletes. Women carried home the gold more than men in the games. It may have been due to the fact that many doors opened up for women competition in boxing, judo, and other fields which once left women out. However, the summer games gave the women chances to win and win they did. Not just American women, but women from other nations also made history by just being able to compete in the games. Some nations had the privelege of having their first women to compete and also were winners of medals. Women found new purposes in competiton; and inspired other women as well. I AM WOMAN.
SPECTAULAR SHOW ENDED WITH WE WILL ROCK YOU! THAT REALLY WAS A MOMENT IN TIME!
A huge crowd blasted out the late Queen song "We will rock you!" As the spice girls took up the microphones. In addition, Elton John wouldn't ever be left out as part of British music. Thousands saw the spectualar show ending the London's host on Sunday night, August 12, 2012. Also televised millions tuned in to see the splendor. Call it a great host country, but music is universal and it was one of the best ways to show that summer time at the Olympic Games in 2012 would be one to remember. It was a super ending to the Great Brits!
Next year's host will be Rio de Janerio, Brazil is eagerly making plans to be also a host of history and memories. Where they'll be saying "Let the games begin!"
