Teach Children to Pray: This could be the most important skill we pass on to our children. (448 hits)

Most people remember their first prayer, whether it was “God is great, God is good, and we thank him for our food” or the classic nighttime prayer, “Now I lay me down to sleep.” But prayer is more than simply saying some words over and over; prayer is communicating with the Maker of the Universe. Prayer is pouring our hearts out to the one who created us and petitioning him on behalf of others.

Teaching our children to pray is an awesome responsibility. What is the first thing a child needs to know about prayer? What does Jesus say about prayer? What can we teach children about the times God says no? These are some of the questions we will look at in this study.

SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 12:23; Psalm 84:11–12; Matthew 5:43–44; John 11:32–44; 15:1–7; James 5:16

Prayer is the Submission to each INDIVIDUAL of Monotheistic Origin, to the Creator of Adaam(as): as saintJake says in English, The Most High or as Isa said, ---AlAzeez, AlJabbaar, AlMaleeki AlMulk.....

Prayer is an obligation of all young and old, as taught and performed by Adaam(as) to Prophets and Men/Women for Individual worship...........

Sûrat An-Naml
(The Ants, The Small) XXVII
In the Name of Allâah,the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

1. Tâ-Sîn. These are the Verses of AlQur’âan, it is a Reading or Book that gives clarity for Mankind.

2. A guide to the Correct Path and glad tidings for the Believers of the Oneness of Allâah (Monotheism).

3. Those who perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât)--Prayer and give Zakât and they believe with certainty in the resurrection, recompense of good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell.

and saintJake for the Weavers of weakness and falsehood -- continue your struggle as a test, and do your best:

Sûrat Al-‘Ankabût
(The Spider) XXIV
In the Name of Allâah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

1. Alif-Lâm-Mîm.

2. Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested.

3. We indeed tested those who were before them. Allâah will certainly make known the truth of those who are true, and will certainly make known the falsehood of those who are liars, as Allâah knows all before putting them to test.

I feel this vital...Children should be taught in instruction of righteous ways..including prayers. I see so many children who are displaying disobedience to their parents and are throughly disrespectful in orders to obey what are asked to do. I'm a big believer that these teachings should begin at home. Prayers..."A family that stays together prays together" is a very well said statement

Here's the one that my son would say in kindergarten before school was dismissed.

In the Name of the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit - Amen. Before we go away, we bow our heads and pray that God will keep us safe and warm until another day. Amen. In the Name of the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit.

We still say this one at night, but change the wording to before we go to sleep ... instead of go away... He loves to say this prayer.
