CHANGING POISON INTO MDICINE...TODAY IHAD MY FIRST CHEMO AND RADIATION TREATMENT. SO FAR SO GOOD "I" HAVE NOT (758 hits)

SUFFERED ANY SIDE EFFECTS. On Sunday they put in my picc cathater. This is a tube that runs from a vain in the center of my upper right arm(the nurse used an ultural sound mahcine to put the chater in) to the big vain connected to my heart that will carry the chemo. this way they will not have to stick me each treatment. When I got home I was to put hot packs on it to try to help prevent infections. Now they can also draw bloodtest form there also. ThEy bandaged it so it will not move around and capped it . THE Cemo dept will be the ones to change the bandage each time they use it. I just have to keep heating it and keep the out sleve they gave me on it, a clean one each day.

Chemo began at 8am. There is a large cubical I am in and one guess can be there with me, If I choose. I get a tv or soft music. I get a choice of lunch as a waitress comes to take the orders. I get coffer or tea. I like tea and had a ham sandwich and cookie.

We went over my folder as in the Chemo class we recieved a folder. We did small talk. I was sit in a recliner, saline was started first (don't have the note of the chemo herb will list it later)I was given 5 different pills to prevent me from getting sick. Then one more. After three hours there then on to radiation an it took agout 15 minuted to get radiated.

I was to have begun to have had a reaction withone 8 hours. So far os go, I have felt a little light headed at times and my walking balance was off a few times. But, I have not been sick to my stomace nor have I thrown up.(smile

Tomorrow only radiation all th e rest of this week and not chemo until every Tuesday.

Thank you all...lov ya lll (smile)
