Yahoo, Inc will lay off 2,000 of it's employees, which is 14% of its workforce. This is organization's deepest round of job cuts in years according to a recent news story. Chief Executive Scott Thompson the new CEO will have a tackle to handle following failures of two previous Yahoo CEO's. Thompson has made indication that the Yahoo changes will work with a leaner outfit that focuses on its main businessess, which he identifies as "core media and communications." "platforms and data." Thompson also noted that putting customers first and allowing progress the company to move in a new direction of reploying resources to our most urgent priorities. The layoffs come as Yahoo's revenues declines due to competition from Google and Facebook.

Jake the news source said a spokeswoman from Yahoo mentioned that every organization within the company was affected by the lay-offs and that more information would be provided of Yahoo plans when it releases it's first quarter report results on April 17th.
