Today a group of us senior citizens from the Y went to the movie and saw the movie, Red Tail.
After the movie we talked. We were throwing our feelings hard at each other. Some of these feelings were very sensitive. Our feelings were the same feelings shown in the movie from the White perspective and the way things are. Whites are superior and Blacks are inferior people, am I right. From the Black perspective the soldiers recent that the Whites think they are nothing and incapable of such serious and dangerous responsibilities.
So, I asked the question at this point. I asked what the movie was about. No one said that the movie was about Black Americans always trying to prove that they are something and measures ourselves using White America's measuring stick.
But, what if dumb Black Americans could think in terms of us having our own by having the best fertile and reasonable portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to worship God, pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way then who could be our yardstick except ourselves and God? But, at present Black Americans can not think in terms of being free as the children of Israel in the days of Moses were set free.
I enjoyed the movie and I have a lot of respect for White America who are our relatives.
Hi Harry, good to see you.... and Harry are you saying we must measure ourselves to Moses or not? (Harry just a question and not a statement before you go to the nouns, O.K.?) (smile)
