TWO HATE CRIMES LEAVE SACRAMENTO UNIVERSITY ON EDGE (255 hits)
SACRAMENTO--Since Friday, two hate crimes on the UC Davis campus have many concerned.
The first happened at Potter Hall. A note was found on a student’s door that said, “KKK F*** off were (sic) full.” The note was found before the student came home. Police have no suspects in this hate incident, but they are hoping to use handwriting samples to find the person responsible.
The second incident happened at the Women’s Resource Center. Behind a door that’s normally locked, a Barbie manikin was found being hung by a noose from a water pipe.
The doll was last seen on Friday, without the noose around its neck. Monday, when students went down to get some supplies, the doll was found. Police are also investigating this hate crime. The do not believe the two incidents are related but regardless, many around campus are concerned.
“Our students are tired of not feeling safe here and tired that they can’t focus on their studies because all these things are happening around them,” said Mari Knuth-Bouracee the Assistant Director for Outreach at the Women’s Resource Center.
The resource center is also outraged because their facility is supposed to be one of safety, where women who have been victims of rape, abuse or discrimination can come for help and counseling. This act occurring at their facility undermines that.
“The fact that they might try to make this space feel less safe for the people is really frustrating,” said Joy Evans Assistant Director of Education for the Women’s Resource Center.

And, may I add how the city of Davis beliving all of the rift raft, criminals that comes into their city comes from Sacrmaneto about 12 miles away will be overly upset to be called Sacramento as where this university is. loooooooooooooooooooooooool (smile)
