@PBS, I LEARNED HOW JESSE JAMES FITS MORE INTO OUR BIA HISTORY BOOKS THAN IN THE WESTERN BOOKS AND, MAYBE IT IS TIED TODAY INTO THE RIGHT-WINGER'S " GOVERNMENT STAY OUT OF MY BUSINESS"....YOU SEE THE YANKEE GOV. TOOK THEIR CHATTEL SLAVES( NOW HAVE YOU EVER KNOWN THIS BEFORE NOW?) (SMILE)
THE NAME OF THE PROGRAM WAS CALLED "JESSE JAMES AND A DVD CAN BE GOTTEN AT 'THE SHOP@PBS OR DOWN LOADED ON YOUR IPHONE.
"I" was so impressed with this documentary which they had historians reporting on the society of America just before and after the 10 years Civil War until I just had to share this right now with you...
I will go look at it again, as I taped it, take a few more notes and then share this whole story with you. I so hope you enjoy this bit of our BIA history that at least I never knew any thing about this version of Jesse and Frank James before today. (smile)

Jesse James' father was a slave owning preacher...his mother was such a strong person until she knew and took full responsibility for who she was and what her purpose was in this life time.(You go girl,lol)
Jesse's father died and his mother married a doctor, and by the time Jesse was 16 western Mo. was turning into a pro slavery, con slavery state. HIs family were pro slavery which meant that being for the Confederate Army meant his side could be and often were hung by the necks until dead on their own front porches, their homes burned along with their crops by the Yankee sympatizers.
At age 17 Jesse and Frank joined Bill Anderson a (psychopatic leader of a band of men) called the Anderson boys.In 1864 they committed what was called The Centraila, Mo. massacre for killing 22 Union soldiers and 150 Federal troops.they not only killed them, but they cut off heads and put on different bodies...put private parts in some of the men's mouths...up until tis point they would only scalp them, cut of noses and ears and then leave messages to shock those who found the dead they left behind.
After the war was over the James brothers became bank robbers, but were not know as bank robbers until at the age of 22 Jesse robbed a bank in Dalton, Mo. to not just rob it but to announce he had robbed the bank and had killed Samuial Cox the owner of said bank the same man who had killed his beloved leader Bill Anderson. but, Jesse had not killed Cox the only thing he had done was identif himself as the bank robber, killer of the bank teller John Sheets.
After the Civil war the pro slavery people had lost all of thier political powers in the south, and a reporter at the Kansas City Times news paper, John Neuman Edwards used his paper to turn Jesse James into someone who robber from he rich and gave to the poor which as we know was very, very successful. LOL...
Jesse and the adlton brothers love the hero press and began to rob and leave press releases behind. tis brought in the Pinkerton dective agency. the agent sent was shot 4 times and once again left a press release which brought onto the scene the owner of the agency himself on a personal level. tis move led to the accidental killing in a fire set by the Pinkerton people the killed Jesse's half brother and cost his mother her arm and yes more public backings and protectionf for the James gang. And, it also gave rise to Confederate political powers in the south once again...
Now this is ironic because that bank robbery in Dalton, Mo. lead to the biggest man hunt in America at the time for which only the James brothers managed to excape. this lead to more of the exploits of the robin Hood image of Jesse which now until is mother was hurt and is half brother's death, they had married and were leading lives of farmers in Nashville,Tenn.His new name was farmer J.D. Howard and even his two children did not know about his past. but, as a farmer he still continued is get rich scemes of con games and playing cards. He never was a good card player as a gambler and was always in need of more money. frank was contint to be a farmer, bu tnot him.
But, Jesse being the media hound he was wanted a return to his past press glory so he went about forming a new gang to get back into th elime light . The only people he could raise was **** Little and Bob Ford. Bob ford had already made a deal with the governor on him killing or bringing in Jesse James, because by this time the south had no more need for the Jesse James name or image, because those days had ended to never return...
AND, WE NOW KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY ABOUT BOB FORD SHOOTING JESSE IN THE BACK AS HE WAS ATTENDING TO A PICTURE HANGING ON THE WALL...
Yes, this historical facts about Jesse James now has me putting him into our BIA history. (smile)
