Plan Proposed To Address Corporate Greed Globally (750 hits)

Plan Proposed To Address Corporate Greed Globally:

Let's develop a campaign to get Corporations to Voluntarily donate 25% of their annual profits to a local school, charity or nonprofit of their choice. For those who refuse, we stop buying their goods and services. When their profits drop by 25%, they will get on board. We can become the first Nation to show support for an innovative idea that could have the greatest impact on the world by reducing corporate greed in a way that is fair to all. 99% Proposes the 25% Plan. A Win-Win Solution 4 All. Spread The Word of this Plan. Leadership solves problems without excuses!

Charles this is a noble idea, and we've often had the call to arms to do this very thing. Help the rest of us understand what steps need to be taken to actually make this a viable possibility?

Is the thought that a bunch of signatures will be enough to get corps to comply and if they don't , consumers stop spending? I'm just not all together clear on how this actually looks.

I guess what I'm asking is, what all does the campaign entail? What's the message? What are the thought processes on convincing consumers to stop spending in the face of greedy corporations who refuse to do what's being demanded?

I believe all too often we jump on these band wagons with little or no strategic plans to actually make things happen; which is the issue I have right now with the Wall Street Sit-ins. I understand the overall reasoning of bringing attention to those corps who legally rape our economy right before our eyes, but what are the plans to do anything about it? Certainly it can't stop with sitting on the steps and stoops of Wall Street businesses while simultaneously impeding your own progress to do what you're complaining can't be done because of these greedy corps - it's a vicious circle I suppose.

So, I ask you, what are your thoughts on what this campaign will look like?

Hi Tashana

I agree! The Occupy movement will use social networking to ID Corporations by Industries in States and Cities. They will be ask to commit to the 25% plan, those that refuse will be boycotted and their competitors will be supported. Sounds like you have some interest in making this work. I'm open to hearing your thoughts.

Hi Charles,

Well, I am interested in how all this will play out from a tactical perspective. I think that's the thing that has eluded me up til this point. I have a holistic understanding of the Occupy movement, but no intimate knowledge about the details, including the current state of affairs as it relates to these corps, and how will it be monitored?

I'm a measurements kind of gal :-), so my political antennas are erect and seeking a viable source of energy - lol...meaning, I want to know how this all looks - lol...
