Patrick Henry College is offering aspiring Christian journalism students the opportunity of a lifetime (422 hits)

Up to three scholarships are available to students planning to major in journalism. The major award will be between $7,000 and $10,000, granted annually for four years. This is for well-qualified applicants who can demonstrate interest and talent in journalism through reporting or editing experience. Have you interned at your local newspaper, written for a news website, worked on your school newspaper, or designed your homeschool association’s newsletter? You might well qualify for this award.

We also have two smaller awards of up to $5,000, also granted annually for four years, for applicants who show excellent potential for careers in journalism but do not yet have much experience. We’re looking for students whose applications show excellent writing ability, a keen intellect, and a strong desire to serve society through journalism.

These privately funded scholarships will make it more financially viable for talented, dedicated young people to take advantage of the unique education opportunities available to Journalism students at PHC. The application deadline for the Samuel Adams Scholarship is January 1, 2012.
