President Obama’s Views on Marriage Continue to ‘ Evolve ’ (731 hits)

In 1996, he favored the legalization of same-s*x marriage. In 1998, he was undecided. Beginning in 2004, he pushed civil unions instead. In August 2008 — just weeks before the presidential election — he called marriage a “sacred union … between a man and a woman.” In February, he announced his Justice Department would stop defending the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
