sugar and spice and everything nice, are you too nice? Advice please (343 hits)
I am having a serious problem with people taking my kindness for weakness. I was always taught to treat people the way you want to be treated. I am unmasked the same considerate, helpful, loving person that when you meet me I stay the same unless you cross me. Funny thing is lately in school I have been getting picked on by white girls. I dont know if they want me to act ghetto or just give them a reaction but it is getting on my nerves. This is in college where people are suppose to be adults. I talked to my teacher's who is also a black female and she more or less defended and make excuses for this girl.
What exactly is the girl doing? Depends on what the behavior is. If it's nothing serious then I'd just ignore her, but if its bullying then I'd take it to a higher up than your teacher. Bullying is a serious problem and it shouldn't be brushed off or have excuses made on behalf of the individual.

As a public school administrator I agree with Jen that bullying is a serious problem and you did the right thing by first bringing it to the attention of your teacher. The next step would be to speak with your counselor, and (since this is happening on a college campus) speak to the dean as well.
However, if the girl decides to make her altercations physical, the next step would be to contact the local police.

I wanted to thank you both so much for responding to my blog. @ Jen this girl makes nasty comments concerning grades, clothes, etc. I was on my way to class when I blogged this and feed up and upset. I feel like I am to blame because had I said something to her in the beginning this may not had been such a big problem. Dont want to be mean but do nice girls finish last? I ignore her but everyday she makes it a point to make a rude comment directed to me in front of other students. I try to direct my focus on school because that is why I am there, I have a 3.8 to her 4.0 . And she reminds me of this every chance she gets . Thank you both again so much for your support, I think I am going to have to suck it up to get through this class. We are in different programs she is in an RN program I am in the Bioscience program for medical research, I hope this is our last class together lol

@ Siebra You are right if this turns physcial I will contact the local police( to pick her off the ground) , Once it's physcial nice goes out the door. Lmao that is my limit, words and hands are too different things
