This Month’s Free Parents-As-Partners Teaching a New Generation Workshop (389 hits)
Teaching a New Generation Workshop will focus specifically on “Gifted/Accelerated” students. It will be held Saturday, March 26th, 2011 at the beautiful campus of the Family YMCA of Carver Villages in Atlanta, Georgia. The topic will focus on meeting the evolving needs of gifted/accelerated students and moving them forward in academics effectively.
Parents will explore the following issues: ~ how to make the most of a local school’s gifted program; ~ ways to ease boredom in a regular classroom setting; ~ creating a home environment that reinforces the “unique” intellectual and social needs of the gifted/accelerated student; and ~ exchanging external resources that parents have found to be successful in producing happily challenged gifted/accelerated students; ~ elements to consider when facing the possibility of early college enrollment…
Parents of other states and countries, we are still finalizing the tour for the next school year and I hope to release the tour itinerary by next week. My team and I are working diligently to ensure that your requests to visit your community will be honored. Until then however, don’t forget, we do have a free teleconference for all parents on Saturday, April 9, 2011 which will take place in the privacy of your own homes.
Best wishes for an awe-inspiring week…
