Noted American Scholars Discuss the DREAM Act (311 hits)

December 13, 2010 ***TELEPHONIC PRESS BRIEFING-Today, Monday at 3:00 p.m. EST*** *Call in 800-862-9098, Conference ID: 7SCHOLARS*
Washington D.C. - Today, noted immigration scholars will host a teleconference to discuss research on children who have grown-up and been educated in the United States without immigration status. They will also re-issue a letter signed by 250 scholars from across the United States. Their decades of research shows that by punishing the children of undocumented immigrants, this country is creating a disenfranchised group of young people cut off from the very mechanisms that would allow them to contribute to our economy and society.

Join immigration scholars to discuss what's at stake for these young people and the impact national legislation, known as the DREAM Act, will have on them.
