Louis Farrakhan and Cathy Hughes Interview on TV One (1563 hits)

In the years since Min. Farrakhan gave his last televised interview, the Nation of Islam leader has survived major surgery, been forced to confront his mortality and pondered his legacy while keeping a watchful eye on the circumstances impacting the African American community.
“Our television audience hasn’t heard from Min. Farrakhan in a long time,” said Hughes. “We wanted to touch base with him to discuss his impressions of the world today, the challenges facing our communities, politics, race and progress in the 15 years since the Million Man March.”

In the interview Hughes asks about demands for then candidate Barack Obama to publicly distance himself from Min. Farrakhan. He said he understood the pressures Obama faced.

“I never endorsed him. I just spoke well of him,” Farrakhan said. ”When he denounced me, he was forced into that. For me, I saw the bigger picture. I told all those that are with me, ‘Don’t you say one negative thing about what he said or what he did. Just be quiet.’ And do you know … when that young man was elected, black people came to me and thanked me, because I never allowed anything to pull me out into that which would hurt that brother. The bigger picture at that moment was Barack Obama, not Louis Farrakhan.”

Hughes also asks Min. Farrakhan the impact of HIV/AIDS on blacks, specifically black women.

“With this s*xual revolution, we’re spreading our own death through our need for pleasure and our disrespect of ourselves and our women,” Farrakhan said.” When [black men] go to prison, they check you coming in. They know you don’t have it. But nobody checks you coming out. And … they take these young men and turn them while they’re in prison having s*x with one another. Then they come home, their girlfriends are waiting for them. So they have s*x with their girlfriends or their several girlfriends, but they’re passing the virus that they may have gotten in prison.”

On the topic of black men who marry outside of their race, Hughes asked how black women should interpret their behavior.

“There has always been this desire in black men to have white women,” said Min. Farrakhan. “As a student of the Hon. Elijah Mohammad, I’ve always said that I love to see the black man with the black woman and the black woman with the black man. But love transcends ethnicity, race, color, culture. The question has to be is it really love, or have these opposites who have desired each other, lusted for each other and claimed that lust is love? … But in the end, everybody finds a way to come back home.”

This is an excellent interview with Minister Louis Farrakhan and Cathy Hughes from TV One. He addresses a lot of topics and makes a lot of sense especially in his comments on our President Barack Obama. The truth will set us free. There are several episodes, I've only included 1 & 2. You can view it in its entirety on you tube. Take a listen and tell me what you think.

Hello Ms. Moore,

Did Mr. Farrakhan ever said that Black America's only permanent solution is our sovereignty or complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to worship God, pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way? If he did not then what good is he as a leader and the interview?

Look at it this way, Mr. Farrakhan's leader was Elijah Muhammad. Mr. Elijah had television interviews as well. Now, Mr. Farrakhan is having television interviews. Naturally, there will be more television interviews in the future and the same thing will be said by the new leader, am I right.

So, please explain to me a reason for your excitement.

Nevertheless, you know that sooner or later our real prophet and leader are coming. Providing that our prophet is not here already. You know that out of 41 million Black Americans one of us God will anoint. If God has not anointed one of us already. We know that it's going to take God and a man on in did by God to permanently free Black Americans and put Black Americans on the right path.

Common sense, would tell you that since Mr. Farrakhan is basically repeating the frustration that Mr. Elijah had then you should know the Nation of Islam, Mr. Elijah Muhammad and Mr. Farrakhan have all went wrong since Black Americans is in the same predicament now as when Mr. Elijah was alive, am I right. Therefore, my question to you, Ms. Moore is where do we go from here? In other words, to you, which way is up?

You need to give me a reason why you are so excited over nothing. Black Americans are not sovereign free. The one that will do what Mr. Farrakhan can not do is the one you ought to be looking for, am I right. What you will need to you and to fine him is not your excitement but your intelligence. You could only see him which you eye of intelligence and not by your excitement.

Tell me what you think.

Tell me what you think. All

Brotha Harry, I usually don’t reply to your discussions because I don’t argue with people or concede to ignorance, but being your question was directed to me, I’ll answer you.
Minister Farrakhan doesn’t have to move to god knows where to pursue anything. He has sovereignty right where he lives now. His own mosque, his own community. His own retreats and his own people who follow his teachings. That’s all the independence he needs or anyone could ask for. I don’t care where you claim to go, you will answer to someone. You want to be a leader which means people would answer to you, so who has sovereignty. Harry what is white American, when dissemination has been so prevalent in our culture. Does that mean that the people in my family who have white blood should be left behind? Sorry I’ll pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity right here.
My excitement comes from the truth. Not many will come out in the public and state the obvious truth and face being ostracized. Minister Farrakhan gives our people something to think about, something to work with, and an answer (where to go from here if you follow his example). I never said he was our prophet and leader, just a religious man of god and a realist talking the truth, but to many he is their prophet and leader.
Those that except Jesus Christ are already anointed. I don't have to wait for an anointed one. Ref: John:9, 2 Cor:1, 1 John:2 . I was anointed when I was born. I just had to except my anointing, so I’ll be ready when the Father comes for his people.
Harry I have plenty of common sense and my common sense tells me that if more people did what Minister Farrakhan and his people do, we (Blacks) would be in a better place today, but which way is up you say? Harry, the only way up is through strong people like you and I to lead and give knowledge to the less fortunate, by lending a hand, each one teach one, teaching them how to be a positive, strong and independent people, not hatred, fighting and intolerance of others. That will get us nowhere but death, jail and institutions. Don’t make what the white man already thinks about us a reality. Look around you. Because of strong blacks this next generation is going to be more powerful than the last and so on and so on. Its inevitable and historical fact. You can’t keep a strong people down, especially when they know the truth. Now Harry, show some love, acccept what I have said to you as my beliefs and don’t disrespect me like you do so many others on this network. God Bless You and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
