2010 U.S. Census, Midterm Elections to Shape Political Power on State, Federal Levels (352 hits)
With less than one month to go until the Nov. 2 General Election, scant coverage has been given to the preliminary 2010 U.S. Census results. What voters may not realize is that the votes they cast in 28 days — along with new Census data — will likely affect the 2012 presidential election, as well as their representation for the next decade. Every 10 years, the U.S. Constitution (Art. 1, § 2) requires the government to take a population census. The goal: To ensure proper representation in the U.S. House and to properly apportion taxes.
