I say church but really we understand that this is not limited to the church. It's for any organized group seeking to raise funds or maintain funds for their particular cause. Its your choice to choose which option you want. Once you see that it works to your satisfaction, simply add more members to the equation ( enough for those remaining original 5 to have 2 each ) causing the others to cycle and receive their $300 check & $200 Voucher/Walmart/Sam's Card. Consider all the non profits in your area within reach ( not to even mention across the country ). We know that if you take care of your neighborhood...it will naturally take you all across the country. Remember this is a business for USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and Hawaii...but please don't overlook your local animal shelter, food bank, women shelter, halfway house, etc.
Q: Will this affect my tax exempt status? A: No...members and non members alike are allowed to donate to your cause. What causes organizations to get out of line is "Spending the money on things and ways not congruent with their mission". Your accountant can verify this with you. If you are a non profit homeless shelter, your mission is to house the homeless...not spending thousands of dollars sky diving and eating lobster with the organization's money. Some organizations actually set up internal organization with separate Tax ID numbers for the sole purpose of donating. Example...Blackmon Road Church set up an affiliate missionary called "Friends of Blackmon Road". As this affiliate missionary earns...the officers of said missionary simply writes a check and sends it over as a regular donation or free will offering.
