Your Thoughts Re: Why Would It Bother a Black Man to See a Black Woman with a White Man? (7312 hits)

Disclaimer: First read blog in its entirety before responding and secondly it is not my intention to offend anyone.

I've been noticing quite a bit from the Black men here and at large that ya'll sometimes apply what I call a double standard. What do I mean by double standard you might wonder? Is it just my imagination running away with me or is there really a double standard in Black America where Black men are concerned? Personally I think there could be, but I'm always open to intelligent discussion. I don't know if watching "Lakeview Terrace (the featured clip) last night had a tiny bit to do with me spinning this blog, but I highly suspect that it does.

I'm sure many of you have seen it, but for those who haven't taken a peek... Samuel Jackson plays an angry Black police officer who gets sadistic trills out of terrorizing his interracial neighbors next door.
My question is: Are (some if not many) Black men too coddled, too pampered, and use to having their piece of the cake and eating it too by women to the point that they now feel its their God given right to apply the double standard when sistahs date White men? If so, how can we rectify this situation if in fact there is such a situation (which I highly suspect that there is)? Thanks in advance for your most honest and thoughtful responses to this blog! ((hugs, kisses, and lots of bubbles @ cha!))

This blog is potentially explosive, so I'll offer this early then keep quiet:

It's an old theory I've had for years … knowing what our ancestors suffered at the hands of white men makes me think of the movie title, "Sleeping With the Enemy". I was reminded of this recently while reading Richard Kigel's book when one of the female characters was about to be lashed for speaking out and to think that only a few generations later, her great grand-daughter would even WANT to give her body to a white man is almost incomprehensible.

Now here's my attempt to explain the double standard: It's a proverbial slap-in-the-face if a black guy lays with the white man's treasure, the white woman. That's like evening the score. (Let the flame-throwers come.)

That being said, no one group of people can be painted with a broad brush. Women only want the best they can get, and unfortunately often times he doesn't look like us. To each his own.

Jen F.... I seen the movie. You are distorting it way out of line...The character that Samuel L is playing...is angry about his wife death with a white doctor...when she should have been at work....but no. The black scandalous wife was having an affair with her boss. Now tell the story truthfully or do not go there.
Tuesday, June 29th 2010 at 12:14PM
@ Brother Earl,

So its alright for the angry Black policeman to now take failure to satisfy his wife out on all White men just because a White man (doctor) was knocking the boots better than him? Hog wash! I call that reverse discrimination and a double standard.

@ Rev. Father Amos,

[It's a proverbial slap-in-the-face if a black guy lays with the white man's treasure, the white woman. That's like evening the score. (Let the flame-throwers come.) & furthermore women only want the best they can get...]

You have hit the ball out of the park. It is a proverbial slap in the face when one can impose a double standard on the Black woman for doing what the Black man claims is a 'slap in the face.'

I don't think it has a lot to do with slavery, but perhaps with the male ego and the size of one's anatomy that is really at the heart and root of the matter. Could it be that some Black men don't won't to grapple with the thought that a White man could satisfy better than he can?

Let's talk more guys.... I agree with you Sister Cynthia that Rev. Amos hit the nail on the head!

I saw the movie and I would second Earl as to the motives of the Samuel Jackson character. His was a more personal axe to grind because of the circumstances under which his wife died. The messed up way in which he dealt with it had more to do with that and his over-inflated cop ego than it did with his views on black-white relationships, although that was the subtext the film creators wanted to get in there.

In answer to your question Jen, would it bother me to see a black woman with a white man? No. To each his/her own. Besides, there are MUCH more important things, like why these young fools are out here killing each other the way they do, we as black folk need to focus on. Focus. It sure as hell isn’t because of sisters getting with white men.

But lastly, and this is the most important point for me. Do any of you remember the show “Tony Brown’s Journal?” Or “Black Voices” that used to come on BET (before BET sold out) that was hosted by “Miss Bev?” These shows came on 20 – 30 years ago, and this was a topic BACK THEN. And yet here we are STILL beating this long dead horse? Somebody is laughing all the way to the bank, and it ain’t us.

We as a people need to maintain our values, preserve our history, choose our battles and protect what’s important, but at the same time we can’t continue to present ourselves as a hunkered down balled up fist. We need to recognize that as a divided people we’re much fairer game, so it’s little wonder it is made sure to keep this meme out there to keep us at each others throats. And the more time we spend at that, the less time we spend on going forward.

Its way past time to move on.

Sis. Jen ...not sure whether you are after the truth or frieky responses. But, if it is the truth...then it is worthy of my input...An natural phenomena is "unalike attracts" which is true for magnets, atoms and people. As a black man, I am naturally attracted to a white woman. If she is pretty, shapely and does not smell bad, I must employ defenses to control my lust for her. Same thing goes for Black women. White men are naturally attracted to black women. We, however, as human beings are not to be guided and dictated by our lusts, urges and emotions but brain power. Once, a human employs their brain, then they can ask themselves..."is this right"....."what are the consequences"....."can I live with myself and what does this do to my personal relationship with God".

Once a person employs brain intelligence to the situation, what ensues is a black woman is on the wrong side of God and fit for HELL if she gives in to the advances of the white man. The quality of a nation of people is characterized by the moral convictions of its women. When women go astray, they should be cast out, less they infest the rest of the nation of people.

As far as a double standard....Black men with white women is equally appauling, only children do not come from men. Men are not the garden of childbirth. So, as long as the white women does not have syphillus, gonerrea or AIDS....he can come to his senses, wipe off his genitals and keep on stepping.....but the Black woman who has faulted with a white man carries his juices and sperm for the rest of her life and she becomes a tainted women. In short Bro. Earl said it best when he said a black woman with a white man is bull****.

Is this another tool being used to continue the separation and division within the Black Community. We are so judgmental and disrespectful to one another . So what if a Sista decides to cross over to another race. Its just shows her inability to work on a relationship within her own culture. Just don't expect others to agree or accept your decisions. { This applies to brothers as well}. White people never forget they are white , so don't you ever forget you are Black. Just remember your History of being used, abused, raped and hung. When you mate with that monster , you keep his blood line going. I can say its every Black Mans dream to kill the bloodline of his oppressor. Ok Jen now that you've opened pandoras box, you get what you get , when you do what you do.

What powerful emotions are unleashed!

I think Craig kind of summarized the dilemma and ambivalence.

There is a powerful feeling the legitimate anger of your forefathers: Why would "her great grand-daughter would even WANT to give her body to a white man is almost incomprehensible."

Then he asnwers the dilemma by making it totally comprehensible:

"No one group of people can be painted with a broad brush. Women only want the best they can get."

Every individual is different. And I think everyone will agree that every person has the right to make his or her own life decisions.

But, we can benefit from the perspective of history. Take the case of Harriet Jacobs, a slave in North Carolina in the 1830's. As a beautiful and intelligent young woman, she was hounded, humilated and cooerced by her master for s*x.

Somehow, by using her wits and wiles, she managed to avoid any actual rape. But the horror and total subjugation remained.

How did she manage to escape her master's clutches? By her own words, she attached herself to a single white man who lived in town and whose social status was higher than her master's. She confessed her tender feelihngs for him because he treated her kindly and with consideration.

She admitted in her narrative written after she became free that she embarked on this affair by her own choice. She bore two children with her lover who promised to make sure that one day they would be freed.

Was this love--by any stretch of the imagination? Who knows. Who can say.

The biographer of Sally Hemings, the mother of Jefferson's children called their relationship "somewhere between rape and romance."

Jefferson made sure his children with Sally Hemings got their freedom. He made sure she got her freedom.

And Harriet Jacobs two mixed race chidlren got their freedom after their father purchased them.

About the only thing anyone can say about these relationships is that it is complicated.

That was then. This is now.

The only complications I see in black-white relationships is people's old prejudices on both sides. And it is really none of their business.

Bottom line--every man and every woman deserves the right to choose who he or she wants to be with. Period.

To Christopher:

You make some interesting points--and give rise to some pointed questions.

"Just remember your History of being used, abused, raped and hung."

This is absolutly right. Nobody should ever forget history. If we do not learn from history we tend to repeat it.

But then, you said:

"When you mate with that monster , you keep his blood line going."

So here is my question. By the monster--do you mean the person who used, abused, raped and hung African-Americans throughout history? If that is who you mean--then ABSOLUTELY! TOTALLY!! No righteous human being should even associate with that monster. He truly deserves that word associated with him.

But, here we are in 2010. If I fall in love with a beautiful black woman and want to marry her, am I that monster? Please beleive that I try to be a good and decent person who lives a moral Christian life and I treat everyone with respect. I am no monster.

So why can't I marry a beautiful black woman if she will have me?

Next question:

You stated pretty authoritatively that: "I can say its every Black Mans dream to kill the bloodline of his oppressor."

Did you take a survey of every black man to come up with this? Maybe YOU feel this way. But why do you feel you can speak for anybody else?

Personally, I do not know any black men who feel like destroying my bloodline. At least they have not TOLD me they do.

Thank goodness!!!

Your Thoughts Re: Why Would It Bother a Black Man to See a Black Woman with a White Man?
Richard , maybe you didn't notice the topic so I posted it again for you . See you will never understand the Black Community and certainly not a Black Man. But given our history , when a white man speaks his words are given validity . Yet we have been fore-warned by the Indians : " White man speaketh with forked tongue". As you say this is no longer the 70's, 80's, 90's , Black Men are much Wiser than given credit. So I don't expect you to understand anything I say.
Sisters , don't expect to be accepted if you date a white man , its an open wound that will likely never heal. Its not smart to enter into a relationship that you know is going to bring trouble and think otherwise.

Oh my goodness!!! You are a total JOY!!!

I would marry you in a hot New YOrk minute--if...you bring along that ice cream you've been promising me since our last party.

What Christopher does not realize is that not everybody remains imprisioned by history. What he does not realize is that times change and people change.

The data says that more white folks and African-Americans are getting together--both genders--falling in love, marrying and having families, than at any time in our history. Fifty years ago it was shocking, even a crime.

I remember back in the late 1960's, a white British singer named Petula Clarke caught flack for touch the arm of Harry Belafonte during a duet.

That was then. This is now.

The only open wound is in his head. He is stuck in a time machine.

So Cynthia--I would be honored to have such a fine, decent, hard working, strong, smart, sassy beautiful woman as you for a wife.

And for the record, the qualities I admire most:

1. fine
2. decent
3. hard working
4. strong
5. smart
6. sassy
7. beautiful

I don't see color on that list at all!!!

So let the nuptials begin!!!

And Christopher:

I would just like to point out that you avoided answering my questions.

You did say that I would not understand anything you say. Well, would you at least be willing to try to explain in a way that I can understand? That is what dialogue is all about.

And by the way: would you like an invitation to a wedding?

Christopher is not out of line , nor out of touch . The only thing I owe anyone is to tell the truth . Subjects like these have a large spectrum and no one definite answer can be given . What makes what you say more valuable than what I say , your conscious choice to choose, is the difference. We agree to disagree, I don't believe I assaulted any one persons character. And the question was aimed at the response from Black Men , something Richard and Cynthia are not. I'll be the first to say , some of our beliefs are unfounded but it is, what it is. Happy Hunting!!!

Tuesday, June 29th 2010 at 4:14PM
Just like the motives used in the movie, I think that the Black man has a more personal axe to grind. The past history of the White man raping his women, is only a fraction of the motive. Female children were being raped, and the Black male had no way to protect their young ones from the offense, hence it easier if the father was sold off to another plantation. The young girls were taught that the more they pleased the master the more gifts they recieved. If the master found favoritism with a Black female, every Black man knew there were consequences if he associated with her. It's easy to say I forgive, but it is hard to forget.

It's all good,Get in f a woem. If a woman loves a man or vice versa let them do them. Happiness is fleeting and a blessing. In reality you need to find love where it finds you. Gone get your swerve on. One thing I know for sure you can't measure love for anyone else...Yours heart is yours to give or take where ever you choose. Got no problem with Inter racial marriage or dating. Get over it.

Tuesday, June 29th 2010 at 5:42PM
@Helen...Did you read my blog today? Forgive and Forget --"For and For is Ate"....[Smiles]

My opinion is....It is most certain that Black men are bothered to see a Black sister with a white man.. or any other man of a different race. I find there is a jealously streak always present. Even if the relationship is founded on pure and sincere love the color barrier stays where the Black woman shouldn't go running across the race line. Are they protectective? Are they being selfish? Do they feel belittled? Lastly are feeling a sense of guilt that he hasn't filled his role. These all might bother the brother. The extreme potrayal in the movie clip is not expressed by all Black men. Discrimination as I have mentioned before has many targets...Seeing a Black woman and White man is another way discrimination remain in men and women black or white or any other colors as a target to hate. We seem to always have the arrow to slay with hating. Humans are humans and a skin color doesn't make it any validation for us to discriminate. Not even with relationships. This we have to begin and start with loving each other, its too sad that even this very day discrimination is allowed to continue within us. Yet we target and shoot with fiery darts continually. Brothers are bothered I say..yes they are. However...our sisters are beautful women.

~~~ I'm back did you guys miss me? Anyway, I couldn't risk taking up so much space here, but I will say that I did try to comment on your profile pages at responses that made me laugh. Brother Mo you were right~~~ these are some funny responses!
I did make a disclaimer at the beginning of the post so I did make myself plain, but some of you still turned on the heat and even threw your torches. I think that from what I've read that its safe to say that I'm innocent, but more than anything wanted to find out reasons for the "double standard" I've witnessed.
Miisrael was the only person who really offered a solution (forgiveness). I don't expect us to forget history, but I think forgiveness is a workable solution. How do we move on after forgiving ~~~ is reconciliation of White & Black people even possible?
Cynthia Merrill Artis
Hello Folks,
Okay, let me give all of you the right answer. Of course, you all know that I would have the right answer since this topic is link to my anointment, Black America’s survival and sovereignty.
What I am about to explain it would apply to all men, but of course we are talking about Black men, right. So, the question is, why would it bother a Black man to see a Black woman with a White man.
Well, it has to do with how God created man. When God created man, God built in to man if you will the responsibility of survival. So, that is why it inherently bothers a Black man when he sees a White man with a Black woman. He sees his race being destroyed by the White man.
The Black man does not need to have an IQ of a genius to know that a Black woman is racially his woman rather than a White or Hispanic woman. Am I making any sense with you all?
Now, having said that, let us look at the other side of the coin. That is, Black men wanting to screw other women while instinctively preserving his own.
In other words, surviving by instinctively preserving his own is to destroy other races by screwing their women. So, what I am showing you are the instinct of survival that God instilled in man (Black man, since we are talking about Black men) works like a two edge sword.
Therefore, God is responsible for what is presently baffling all of you. Blame it on God, if you could. There is no other answer but the one I have just given.
Now, who dared to say I am wrong? Remember, that I have an IQ of 68 and can see these things, yet you all could not.
I am who I say that I am. If I am not then shown me that I am wrong.
Right now, both Black man and Black woman are ignorant and uncivilized. Black man does not have his own yet to civilize his Black woman. However, the time is coming that he (Black man) will get the opportunity to civilize himself and his woman.
Nevertheless his ignorance and uncivilized ways does not prevent God instinctive law of survival from showing when he sees a White man with his divinely assigned woman, the Black woman. Make no mistake about it; White men do not like seeing a Black man with a White woman.
Tell me what you think.
Hilarious is what you guys are! I remember my Pentecostal church experience when the brothas found out that I had been "snatched up" by someone other than them~~~ they were so upset! Imagine that?!
I spent 4 years of singleness in that congregation and when its time for me to be blessed with a husband, here comes the head of the usher board to spill the beans that one of his junior ushers has his eye on me. Being the person I am, I asked him "Why on God's green earth was he speaking to me and not his junior usher?"
His reply was he was trying to get up the nerve. I said to him send him over. The brotha thought I was going to be there forever, but he was sadly mistaken~~ Ha! Sister April don't waste your time waiting for Black American men. Go out and get your piece of the cake, too is what I say.
Brother Christopher.... If I had a chance between a brother and a white man.... Its about the "MAN" with this if the better man for me is white... Im there....
It's a sad state of emergency.... the Brother Man is fading fast.... and now women get pushed into a corner because she dates outside of her race.... BUT the primary factor is the fall of the black man.....
Im raising two myself.... and I tell them constantly their role as a man.... GUESS what... their father isn't around.....
Hello Mr. Cherry,
You said this, “Not once did I hear any Woman say she preferred a white man or any other color man over her own “
Black women naturally gravitate to Black men for the most part and that is why you have not heard that Black women prefer a man other than her own. It is in the science of God creation that likes attracts.
Did you read my post dated January 29 at 8:10 p.m. you would not be as baffled as you seem to be now that the Black woman prefer her own Black men to other different races of men.
Tell me what you think.
Please clean off your glasses, because that was my reply to Brother Cherry. Is that why you think something's wrong with my brain and psychology? God doen't care what color or ethnic group people marry into~~~ that's all man's doing.
I thought you read the story of Moses, prophet of god? Didn't you hear about Aaron and Miran being chastised for getting upset with Moses for marrying an African woman by the name of Zipporah. So what is this?
Not try to be as intelligently as you could when you answer, okay. You have common sense, science and God creation to guide you as well as the things I have previously said. So, try your best to have an intelligent answer, okay
I was no longer in the gp who said there aren't any good Black men ~~~ once I was out of that box ~~~ I saw that there were so many MORE good men to choose from. Hello to All You Folks,
It is obvious to see that I am talking about one thing and you all are talking about something else.
I am talking about what is natural and what the general rule is. I have established the principles of these general rules for what is natural to wit, under natural circumstances according to the general rule a woman gives birth after her own kind. In other words, if the woman is Hispanic God has made it so that she will be attracted to a Hispanic man thus ashore that her babies will be Hispanic, which in turn supports the survival of the Hispanic race.
This is the only point that I am making and it is a point that creation supports.
Now, would you all are talking about is something very different. You all are trying to justify the exception to what is natural and what the general rule says. You all are arguing that Moses married and Ethiopian woman. I am not outraged about Moses marriage to an Ethiopian woman. However, what I maintain is that that relationship is unnatural and does not link up with the general rule of like attracts.
This is the same argument in principle of homos*xuals and heteros*xuals. Heteros*xuals are natural, represent the general rule and are in accord with God creation of normality. Homos*xuals are unnatural and the exception to the general rule of creation, yet they do exist. Consequentially, something went wrong according to what is natural that produced a homos*xual. Likewise, those Black women that gravitate to men outside of their race is unnatural as well as an exception to the general rule and therefore something has went wrong with them as well. That is all that I am saying.
Am I wrong about the general rule, what is natural and how I interpret God creation?
All that you all are doing is fussing at me and not showing me where I am wrong.
Tell me what you think.
Hello Ms. Jen,
I accept your Fifth Amendment plea. It is an intelligence answer. However, it is not the right answer in the context of our dialogue since we should one be up right, straightforward and honest.
As long as we have this attitude, moving ahead will be difficult to impossible.
When you plead the Fifth Amendment, it is because the questions have boxed you in and it is your right not to incriminate yourself. There is no incrimination here, Mrs. Jen other than your strength to say that you were wrong and Harry you are right. Am I making any sense with you?
Tell me what you think.
Hello Everyone, This discussion is like beating a dead horse. There will never be an agreement between the generations and races unless there comes a time when we open our mind and hearts to the possibilities. Answers given were Samuel wasn’t putting it down in the bedroom. Why does it have to come down to s*x. You can see that he was kind of like an unbending tyrant who lost it and we don’t know what kind of woman his wife was. She simply could have become tired with her lifestyle and circumstances and stepped out on her husband. (The hussy)
I worked at NY Sanitation for a lot of years, got hit on everyday by cute, white, mostly Italian guys, and never once thought about going there, WHY?,Because of my upbringing. My dad from deep south(probably would have disowned me) and mom (a Baptist minister) have deeply ingrained feelings about interracial dating. My daughters in their late 20’s on the other hand, born in NY would consider dating outside their race, even though they know how I feel. My son a teenager would also consider dating outside his race.
I say these things to say it depends on the age of the man and how he was raised. This new generation of man is more open to interracial dating. He doesn’t understand his heritage and what some in his race expect of him and I have to say, I’m not going to put that on my son’s shoulder. Its hard enough for a black man. I just want him to be happy and if that means going outside his race then I cross that road when it comes. If you asked 10 different men how they felt, they would all give you different reasons as to why they would or wouldn’t date outside their race. The older would give negative and the younger would be open.
I’m was on a military installation and interracial dating and mating was just the norm and I must say it made me uncomfortable to see black/white relationships.
I’m personally torn about this topic, so I would hate to be in a man’s shoes.
Sister Anita,
I do appreciate your thoughts on the blog topic. I wish we could stop beating that poor dead horse, because if we don't those animal rights' activists are going to have our hides, eh!
I remember being asked if I would date a person of another ethnic gp (background)by this so called Black church missionary group I happened to be traveling with on a mission trip, so for you to say that one of your parents happens to be in the ministry ~~ made me think of that particular incident.
I said to them (the pastor included) then and I will say to anyone now.... there isn't anything wrong with the freedom to choose. If a woman prefers a certain ethnic group over another, its a matter of choice.
Me personaly, my only requirement is for my son is that the woman love him unconditionally.
Sister Jen, you are so right. I just want my son and daughters to be happy and if they decided to date outside their race, I would take and respect them. They have their own minds and we have to let them make decisions on their own. On the other hand, I still hold issues with interracial dating due to my upbringing and my background in christianity as well as muslim, so I have to concur with a lot of what is being said from some of the other views being against. I can't forget what I've been through growing up in NY and being discriminated against, but I can't put that off on my children like it was so deeply instilled in me.
Dear Anita:
You are a wise and compassionate mom!!!
One of the ways we take the younger generation become better human beings is to avoid teaching them what we know to be the dysfunctional prejudices that WE were taught by our well-meaing parents.
You are very understanding when you acknowledge that your parents were products of their times--and you are equally understanding that your own children are products of a very different time.
This current generation, what we call the millenials, will form a society that is remarklably free of racial and gender identity issues because they see things with a more open heart.
They will surely have OTHER serious issues to address, but God Bless Them for their opennnes.
I do appreciate your honestly in sharing your own experiences here in New York City. As a teacher here in the city, always in mixed schools with a good healthy mix of staff and teachers, the truth is wherever men and women get together, men and women will find each other no matter what group or color or religion or background.
Thank you for adding some serious sober analysis to the conversation!
What about situations where White females trys to befriend you in order for you to introduce them to a Black male. I once had a female get an attitude with me because I didn't get involve with her trying to meet someone. We were just co-workers and I didn't even know the person that she was trying to meet. The young man quit his job as a telemarketeer, probably because he couldn't look up from his console without seeing her glazing at him.
Hello Anita,
You said this, “I've been through growing up in NY and being discriminated against, but I can't put that off on my children like it was so deeply instilled in me.”
You should have put it off on your children and if every Black parents would do the same if within sure our unity which is tied into becoming a sovereign people or having complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way.
We can still be friends and ally to White America while we ourselves are unified and sovereign at the same time, am I right. You do not have to sacrifice one for the other. We could have both.
Anyway, Blacks are going to inherit a portion of this continent anyway. White Americans are going to be hard-pressed; nevertheless, they are going to be happy about our sovereignty and sharing a portion of this continent with us. Everything that I say is going to happen. Make sure that you live long enough and be a helping hand that it happens.
Tell me what you think.
Moreover, I believe most Black American men are a bit on the selfish side. I have a young Carribean colleague who is looking for a serious relationship, but can't find one among Carribean men. Although my colleague isn't Black American, it's more or less the same issue with Carribean men...as with Black American men... they think they own Carribean women while they date outside their "race"... the women aren't suppose to.
I suggested to her that she look outside of Carribean men, but it appears she has a preference. I think she's waisting time, but hey I could be wrong.
@Jen - Most black american men? selfish? Why? Because we don't want a serious relationship? Actually most black men I know, may give that impressions of not wanting to commit to a serious relationship but the real story is not wanting to commit to a woman they cannot see being their future wife (or a woman with the old fashioned qualities of their mom). My opinion.
Tuesday, November 29th 2011 at 9:15PM
Will Moss
@ Will
[ Most black american men? selfish? Why?]
It isn't my intention to offend you but the fact is that most Black men are reared by their mothers; therfore, it makes no sense to me for them to take out their hostility and inner resentment on a woman who reminds him of his mother ( a Black woman). My opinion is not only is it selfish but just plain ignorant and silly. As a person who moves in and among African circles, I don't observe this phenomenon in African men for which I have much respect for them. I believe the dfferences speak for themselves since most if not all African men have responsible males (fathers) in their lives from infancy. as a health care professional, my best medical advice for many Black men would be to seek therapy to work out some of these internal issues.
Wednesday, November 30th 2011 at 9:25AM
To put it in psychoanalytic language... most Black men (who grow up in Matriarchal homes) need to resolve their inner Oedipus complex befoe they can truly forge a healthy wholesome relationship with a Black woman.
Thursday, December 1st 2011 at 12:55AM
@ Sister Lean,
...Why do many of these same men date ugly white women! ...
As for your observation of brotha going for "women who look like they fell off the back of a dump truck, I've not observed that too often except in Clinton, S.C. growing up~ Ha! Anyway perhaps beauty isn't a factor for some as long as she's White and not Black ( in order to slap the "White man in the face").
Up North, the women are nice looking and cause quite a stir. My young counsin lives in Penn and his wife is really pretty as well as she's a nurse and she's nice which is a good thing for the family. At least those NBA, NFL, and Puff Daddy, Puffy, P. Diddy, Diddy Dirty Money, Puffy Combs... Sean Combs or whatever he is callling himself these days make sure they snag the hotties sort of like having a trophy on their ar except of courrse Taye Diggs... his wife isn't attractive.
Thursday, December 1st 2011 at 9:36AM
Jen Fad
Wish I could say the same here. 90% of the time if I see a black man with a white woman she in either very plain or flat out unattractive and overweight. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm overweight too. And I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in my head I'm thinking, "Really, is that what you crossed over for?" As the one brother said that black men are trying to "make the white man mad." Well obviously around here they aren't trying hard enough, because from what I have seen, most white men would be happy you took them off of their hands. LOL The only thing they are doin gis slapping they momma in the face.
Which brings up another point. My family is extremely mulit-cultural, and the only one we have a problem with dating white women is a cousin who dates them EXCLUSIVELY because he "doesn't like black women." It took his white girlfriend, who I really like by the way; to tell him that that was the STUPIDEST thing she'd ever heard. "How can you say that," She asked. "Your mother is black!" He ain't just black either, he's black black and half African! Now is that crazy or what?
Thursday, December 1st 2011 at 1:25PM
I hear what you're saying, I give that much to all. I have nothing against Black people who date outside thier race, what I do have a problem with is when Black people date outside their race and simply forget where the h-e-l-l they come from. With that said, black women (and black men) in America must learn to love their own kind through reading more books, through better selection of friends and peers and through the pride which comes from knowledge of self.
I do realize that there are some valid (though WRONG) reasons why black women are attracted to white men. Sometimes it's psychological trauma, and it should be addressed professionally. For instance some sisters are physically abused by their relatives, ex-husbands/boyfriends, or other friends of their family and become turned off from black men totally.
Then there are some Black women who are golddiggers and seek White men out because they see the $$$$$$$$ that comes out of it. Then there are the ones who seek White men out because they feel that the white man will do things to the Black women that most Black men won't do s*xually (if you know what I mean). Then there are the ones that feel that having a white man by their side means that they are moving up in the world (otherwise known as everyday Uncle Tomming).
I feel that whoever a person decides to marry is a personal choice, but I also feel that just because a black man have abused them, or their fathers weren't around for whatever reason or reasons, that should not be a reason for any black woman (who considers herself strong and highly educated) to not date/marry a black guy.
Thursday, December 1st 2011 at 6:10PM
Siebra Muhammad
And yes I have quite a few White peers but I’ve never trusted White men to the point where I saw myself dating, mixing, or marrying one in the future. I feel Black women who date White men (and vice versa) have forgotten that we, as a people, have been targeted and taught to hate ourselves for generations to prevent the threat of us ever coming together and being (again) the force that we don't realize we are anymore.
I thank his girlfriend for speaking some sense to him. Many times it takes a reality check to wake someone up from the sleep of ignorance. Honestly, I could care less about who Black men date because it doesn't bother me (anymore) to see them with nonBlack women.
I have to be honest I dont approve or agree with dating outside of a race, I hold it down for the brothers', I feel that people make excuses to date outside their race to somehow make themselves feel better about their choices, I have friends that are white girls that have problems black men, then I have black female friends who have been dog walked by their white husbands and boyfriends, My brother will argue that white women are the chosen queens, but his white girlfriend has already slept with half his friends and he treats her like a queen, the point is that if a man is a dog black or white , when you chose to be the white men you deal with so much racial hate for the familes and society, that love got to be strong and worth the drama cause you better know it will be drama
Thursday, December 1st 2011 at 9:44PM
@ Dawn,
There are definitely some dynamic that come into play when dating someone of another culture or ethnic background so I'll second that notion. I'm sure that people who go into r/ships with peoplefrom another background than their own... there are sure to be challenges... so denying that is being short sighted especially here in America where Race still is a polarizing issue. Heck there are people who are still trying to get used to having a Black President 4 years after the fact... One must definitely count to cost before entering into an interracial union especially since children will be a part of the mix.
On a side note... The thing I find remarkable and amazing about President Obama that although he was reared by his grandparents, he has a better sense of who he is and has a balanced, healthy, wholesome respect for people...especially Black women. He had resolved his issues before hooking up with his wife so he knows how to appreciate her. He doesn't make excuses for not having been raised by his father infact he went all the way to Kenya to get to know his father's side of the family. No anger or resentment...
I don't think you are a Racist although what you have stated could be misconstrued as sounding racist or inflammatory statements, but I know better than to think such of you since I've gotten to know you through your blogs; therefore, if anything you are a product of the generation you were born in meaning it wasn't kosher for black and white people to "hook up". ... Imagine how some of ya'll (women) on here would feel about President Obama had Michelle been a White woman!!! Lawd hamercy on him if he had and he almost did!!! Of course the brothas wouldn 't mind since many of them have been crossing over for some time now "slapping the White man's face". ((What a load of horse dung ... slapping the White man's face by dating White women! ~ ha ))
Hello everyone! I've read several of the posts and I would like to respond with a poem I wrote some time ago. It clearly lays out my position on this subject and is my tribute to men of African descent. I hope you enjoy it!
Take a look at the brother and see how he stands
The brother's an extraordinary man
He's a masterpiece from his head to his toes
My admiration for him grows and grows
His shape is sleek, his style is unique
The brother is perfection at its peak
The tone of his skin, the texture of his hair
The others they just don't compare
Now, what the others think is some great feat
The brothers do so naturally
So, tell me sisters if you agree
There is no other choice for me
The brothers got it goin' on, yeah they got it goin' on, you know the brothers got it goin' on!
Now, personally if you wanna know the truth
The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice
Now, he can be light, bright, just about white
If he's a brother, then he's alright
He can be short, fat, skinny or tall
It doesn't matter, we love them all
Red and yellow, black and...
Skip to the chorus, 'cause you know there an't no other men for us!
The brother's got it goin' on, yeah they got it goin' on. you know the brothers got it goin' on"
Now, listen up when I say brother
I'm saying any man of color
I'm not talkin' 'bout the kind that fades
I mean the kind of color that stays
Day in, day out, year round
It doesn't leave when the sun goes down
It starts with yellow and hits every other color
And I don't want to mess with any other - give me a brother
The brothers got it goin' on, yeah they got it goin' on, you know the brothers got it goin' on!
You know already when it comes down to looks
The brothers are incredible, that category they took
But we also know, that's not where it ends
The others are males, but brothers are men
You know the strength of the brother, that why you try to intimidate
But there a force you can't eliminate
Sweet, unique, intelligent, strong
And you know, the brothers got it goin' on!
The brothers got it goin' on, yeah they got it goin' on, you know the brothers got it goin' on!
Ummmmmmmmmm! I love my brothers!
Okay Richard! Once again, you have proven that the white man thinks he has rights everywhere. You all have had sites set up for you for years and look, you just have to come on a site, that, by the way is set up for black women, or as I prefer, women of African descent. Is there no place that you won't try to interject yourselves. History tells us that you believe in conquer and control, not co-habit and share. You think you have this inalienable right to everything! You've managed to take almost everything else from us. Can we have each other?
I have to agree with you about the slap in the White man's face! Slap him by bringing your little "yes, yes, yeses" back home! How about that? You don't know by now that they have already marginalized a certain number of their women anyway, just to slap our women and our race, as a whole in the face? Really? Come on, now! I'd rather her that white women are your preference than he that half-baked excuse! I mean, I believe in the Baskin Robbins 31 flavors! I won't hate you if you like strawberry, vanilla or rocky road...don't hate me because I like chocolate!
As a people, we need to understand that we were programmed and conditioned to hate, envy and distrust each other through a very deliberately directed effort that began in the early 1700s. In fact, Willie Lynch created this programming effort and actually supplied kits to white slave owners that included specific instructions on how to implement and reinforce this programming. He guaranteed during this time, about April 1712, that the effects would last for at least 300 years. We are less that 6 months from the 300 year mark!
Why would you single out Rich out of all the men who commented to this blog? Please don't attack my friend Rich, because he's a true Christian man and brother. He isn't a member of Blackwomen Connect. When I did this blog I posted it to other connect platform sites. If you click on his name, it should verify that he's not a mbr.
OMG! Are ya'll still on this? I done been around the world and back again! lol oKAY, SO IF ANYBODY CARES WHAT GOD might have to day about this-here it is (Well I suppose this only applies if you believe in the Chritian/Judaic-even True Islamic values)-
GOD IS A SPIRIT. THEY THAT WORSHIP HIM MUST DO SO IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH...The Bible says that we are to love the Lord God with all out hearst, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourself. Nowhere does it say love only your white neighbor or black neighbor. I will admit, that I would prefer that my children marry within their race. But that is merely a preference since I realize that at the end of the day-GOD DOES NOT CARE! I often ask myself why I even care. But I know why. History. Nevertheless, when it is all said and done, how my children are treated in a relationship is WAY MORE important than the color of the persons skin. Seriously, because when we die we are not carry the color of our skin with us. When we stand before God, we will not be judged by our outward appearance, but by what is inside.
I love the opposite s*x and it has never matter what his "persuation" was and I want my son't wife to love him and make a happy home for him. I would also love for the woman to be a Christian who loves the Lord for real! And give me a whole lot of grandbabies to spoil, eh!
@ Sister Irma,
Of course you realize how much I loathe hatred based on the hue of a person's skin paticularly REVERSE DISCRIMINATION by Black people against White people. It appears that the only people truly benefitting from keeping up these ideas that "Blacker the Berrie the Sweetier the juice are Black men. I love myself enough to do what directly benefits me and my agenda rather than the lie that keeps sistahs in love with the idea of having a healthy relationship with a Black man. Until Black American men come to terms with their MANY ISSUES, they may never be able to elevate the Black family as it was once before as it was before slavery.
For me, I will not allow anyone to burden me down with the weight of Black men's issues and the utter survival of the Black family on my shoulders; te bruden lies with the Black man and him alone. He's been having his share of rumping the beds of other nonBlack women and we have some of us who blindingly still supportthe IDEA that this type of man is the ONLY one ... PUHLEEZE!!
Definitely a double standard issue.
I think one of the guys said we are "naturally" attracted to the opposite race and I have to say I don't agree with that. It's probably the other way around for most folks I know and even what I see. Ok I lied for a second. Minnesota most likely has the most interracial couples (black men, white women)..sometimes I think It's a phase, but has been this this way since 98 coming here. I thought I know some like white ladies, but can't possibly be everyone..no way..unfortunately..lol.
@ Hoda,
Yes indeed there is a HUGE double standard and it just shows me that some Black men think too, much of themselves. I have heard Black men at least two say that they are rare commodities. What ?! The next time I hear this statement, I'm going to scream out, "Who told you?" Ha! It is my opinion that Black men are a bit on the selfish side especially the ones with college degrees and businesses as they really think they are RARE ((Lol))
The icing that takes the cake for me are the stories of the Black soldiers who carelessly fathered children during WWII in Europe. Is it not enough that they ruined not only the women's lives but what of the children, eh? Look at all the pain they caused and are still causing. All those Brown Babies. Nothing has changed except they are forbidding the Black woman to date outside of the Black man. Puhleeze.
See Brown Babies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_Babies
At Jen....don't even mention the brothers with college degrees...ha! They don't even glance our way on MN. Like they're some hot shot. On top of that , the looks on their faces seeing another brown sister while they're at the mall with their pale ladies just kills me..lol.. I actually laugh. Maybe I'm being a little sensitive, but if anyone has been to MN then you know what I'm talking about.
If anyone lives or knows of a place where black love is very evident, please do tell to keep us hopeful. I know black love is alive, but not around me. I'm not putting down interracial love, just tired of seeing just that. P.s I love black men, but where are the good ones at?
Jen, I think that should be your next topic...lol.
Great topic? Hoda Please! This blog is just as stupid as the author who wrote it and it shows how she have been fed the lie that the white man is a better provider for her finacially and s*xually. The only ones who have came around this blog and made some sense is Siebra, Irma, Dawn, and Christopher.
Ms. Fad is a foolish black women who is subtly justifying why sisters should date outside their own race. She has adopted the same desire as these black male athletes, she wants a big white, powerful d*ck to get in between her black thighs. The ultimate fantasy, in her twisted little mind. She actually thinks, if a 'white man' desires me' I must be great..........great looking , great physic etc, its an ego boost for a fool esp if that white man has a bit of loot. Hence the destruction of her mind and the mind of her children. While she is no longer a black woman by all accounts according to her white partner and often times the family she marries into. This is why they say things like, my sons married to a blackwoman' but she is different, she's really nice, honestly. (Again she is black, but she's nothing like the rest of them, she's like us, exceptional)
She's been Hoodwinked, she's been bamboozeled!
IN defense of the positive brothas. Charisma and appropriate selection process is the key.
I personally never dated a so-called white women..... so I cannot talk intelligently on the subject.
It's a choice a individual makes and depends on the values instilled by your parents.
I have dated good and bad women before my recent marriage.
One needs to know when to pull the trigger and move-on to the next mate.
Actually the dating scene was exciting to me, the good, bad, and ugly.
In my opinion you have to remain positive within your own "self-esteem realm" and don't let others dictate your expectations, desires, and wishes.
Respectively this is not a black man or black women thang.
Truthfully many black women and black men need a "spiritual" upgrade!!!!!!!!
Tuesday, March 6th 2012 at 9:05AM
Well said Craig. WhatBlackMenWant.com To each his own. We chose our mates with our hearts. You can try to never date outside your race, then one day fall for someone without planning it. How can we move forward if dwelling on the past? Never forget what we have been through as a people, but move forward.
Black children are failing in schools; Black college graduates are having a hard tiem finding jobs; middle class Blacks are facing forecolosure; our first Black President is facing unprecedented opposition; voting rights are threatened in 34 states; Black families are falling apart -- and this is the nonsense that receives the most attention on this forum.
I wonder about the priorities of the folks who dignify such a stupid question with a response. This reminds me of a TV commercial I saw recently where a boy says to his girlfriend, "I don't think you understand the meaning of the 'silent treatment'." The best I can do is to give this topic the SILENT TREATMENT. Today is election Primary day. I just voted. I have more imporatnt things to do.
Do you see an Eagle with a Crow, Dove, Blue Bird, or a Robin?
Do you see a Lion with a Leopard, Cheetah, or a Jaguar?
Do you see the Great Elephant mixing with Rhinoceros, or the Hippopotamus... ?
So what does God/Jehaovah/Allah... say about mixing: ???
Tuesday, March 6th 2012 at 2:22PM
Today I get an email from the staff@blackinamerica.com about a "heated discussion that is blowing up" on the site. And this is it???
I agree with Roger Madison 100%. With all that is REALLY IMPORTANT going on today; all that is affecting not only us but the children, why in God's name are we beating this long dead horse again?? Why? I recall hearing this topic "debated" over 30 years ago
Let's be real: why should ANYONE give a rat's behind who ANYONE else is with?? I mean, seriously? First of all, who another black person is with is none of our business. Secondly, is my own house in order to the extent I even have the luxury of dusting my nose off in someone else's life?
You want to talk about something, talk about this:
And hear the Rev. Al Sharpton's speech on the nexus between the voting rights abuses of the 1960s that disenfranchised black voters, and how the GOP is starting this stuff up again, with upwards of 5 million people being disenfranchised in advance of the 2012 election. Now THIS is a topic worthy of sending out the alarms for. But when stuff like this is posted, hardly a mention. Yet this bull crap is "hot."
Come on you all.
Interesting, very interesting. People really believe they are right about their opinions. Entertaining. We've got huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge issues to deal with that are affecting everyone. Race is an illusion. I love it when people "love outside of their race". It's beautiful and inspiring. I think more people should do it more often. It brings the human family closer together, and we begin to see each other as family (as if we weren't already). That's a GOOD thing. : )
1. O mankind! Surely, Allâah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.
as a Believer of Monotheistic thought from the Creator of Adaam(as) --- THERE is no idea of colorWorship of the 2 Billion Muslims worldwide-----so there is NO 'black/white/red etc.' Separation or division.
I have no problem either Brother Powell!
Sister Lena said this and was very much on point.
As was Brother Clark who commented on this foolishness. ( Wow! What wasted energy!)
( please take note: I'm not here often, and this is understandably so) Why?
Because the same old tired dialogs and throat cutting instead of constructive thinking.
When your essence is called back to God, It wont matter who you dated, who you did not, what earthly possessions you acquired, or what legacy you leave behind.
Your own children or spouse won't matter either.
What's strange is,... that you'll also remember hearing this before:
The only thing that will matter is how you treated and helped another human being in your short space in time while you were on this planet.
Where was your spirit in all things?
Did you have sufficient and viable reasons to feel what you felt toward them? Did they you?
In your time, not someone else s' What did they do to YOU?
The least of your worries will be what made another person happy and who they were with.
Your life is a full time job and seeking righteousness should be your top priority. Not revenge or vengeful thinking.
Remember, God sends angels in disguise, and has the power to do so.
The all seeing eye of God sees everything and the Creator saw what happens, or has happened to all people. This is who the ultimate judge is! We need to remember to TRUST THAT!
With all that is going on in the world in this very moment we need to concern ourselves about race and who's dating outside of theirs?
While our children are at risk,... and the enemy is waiting to devour them?
Are you all really serious?
@Clark Maxwell I received the same staff@blackinamerica.com message in my inbox as you did, and you are right on point with your comments about this 'heated conversation' which in my honest opinion should be labeled 'heated ignorant conversation'.
If Ms. Fad wants to talk about something of great importance she could start with telling our Black people how to prepare ourselves for natural disasters such as the tornadoes that ripped several US states over the course of the weekend and killed babies and innocent people. Teach us about how people should save money to survive this f*cked up economy instead of wasting her time writing a bunch of nonsensical articles.
All I'm saying is that Ms. Fad should do as Clark Maxwell suggested and stop the sh*t talking and talk about that which should be on the list of prioritys affecting the black community. But true to form, you just can't help with the smart-a** remarks and sarcasm. I have been sitting behind the scenes observing you and Jen's hatred of Siebra, do whatever you can to insult, demean and belittle what she stands for. Siebra has been making powerful points for quite some time, and I can say with conviction that she is to me, one of the most educated bloggers here. No kidding!
And we wonder why things remain the same.
Because you don't want to change, that's why.
Who knows why a person feels the way about certain issues.
If you knew why you will also come to know that it wasn't worth the answer.
Its good to have good dialog about why we feel as we do about each other however, have you noticed by now that it's an UN-ending cycle?
The greatest superstars on earth, given favor upon favor after all our people have gone through and is the most hateful jealous race of people to EACH OTHER than any in the world.
Now that's gratitude. We don' like each other!
We focus on do-do while others run empires so you can keep buying into them and keep focusing on do-do.
So yes it's beneficial for you to be distracted with your way of thinking and as long as you're not lead on to this fact and remain sleeping... the other man wins.
Your dumb butt was too busy worried about what someone else was doing or who they were with.
WOW Loser! Just keep on losing wit yo BAD SELF!
You really got it goin on!
By the way if you still have'nt notice also, we do this to ourselves making it even that more convenient.
Ha! What a joke we must be to the world at times.
Aren't you tired yet?
Should be!
It comes down... to being an "agreeable or disagreeable" spirit. We are never going to unify the disagreeables (non-saints) with the agreeables (saints).... So what is required is separation. Separation of good (agreeable spirits) from the disagreeables (evil spirits). It has always been this way from the inception of humankind.
So be encouraged if you are a "agreeable".
I don't tire because I know what was is right now!
Know when to pull the trigger on the "disageeables".
@ Everyone first of all let me take the time to thank you all for taking the time to comment on this blog because as some of you have alluded to there are other pressing issues that you have , but yet you still took the time to make a comment. Many a times people click on a blog but will not take the time to make a comment and thus no dialogue takes place. Again, I thank you for the comments. Also thank you for the support from my brothers and sisters Rob, Inonge, and JR. God bless you all and even the ones who don't support what this blog truly represents ... the Double Standard that Black Men have.
Secondly, I need to say that for those of you who don't realize it ... I am a Free Black Woman. ((Hello)) For me, this means that I don't allow others (including Black people) to tell me what my priorities 'should' be. Many of you who say that we should be concerned about the Black community are doing Nil for it. I can hardly find any blogs here that are truly reflective of the real care and concern for our community but rather those many times pointing out what White America isn't doing for us or something that we think to be racist blog is posted. PULEEZE give me a break and be for real. I've long decided that I wouldn't get wrapped up in what other Black people think is of importance. I am a Free Black Woman and thank you Tiffany for calling me a fool. God bless you, too.
Lastly, I am waiting for other Blacks in America to become concerned about what is going on with other people besides Selfish selves for a change. Post something about the plight of others in the world, post a petition to help someone else because I believe that is of importance since some of you here would like to voice what you believe is a priority. I challenge you all to take a look at the blogs I've posted and see how globally aware I am. Can many of you say the same about yourselves, eh? I doubt it. Nope because many of you have no CLUE to what's happening outside of America or the little State you live in.
In Conclusion, some Black men have real issues especially with the double standard where they like Brother Gerald feel comfortable making the comment blaming Black Women for why he dates White women. Why blame us, but rather just admit you like dating White women. Stop all the nonsense! There is nothing wrong with dating other cultures or ethnic groups, but don't dictate to me a Free Black Woman as to why I shouldn't, wouldn't, or couldn't.
Thank You.
And you too dumb to see that by dating and marrying a white man you are thoroughly being used. All you can be to the white man is a bed mate and a baby making machine. You are striving to fit in white society like a good dog and keep letting the white man kick you in your black a** every chance he gets. The white man made you into a home born uncle Tom that you now believe you are a free woman and you no longer feel little if any connection with your own people.
Or maybe you think as Christopher said above......Everyone is wrong and you're right???? Sister you have been brainwashed......
With all due respect, when we have sunk to the level of calling another sister names like "Stupid, and dumb" just because they have a different opinion, then I have to wonder if the real problem here is race dating. Why even worry about who we date, when we can't even show the proper respect for one another.
@ Sister Lena,
Thank you for showing some civility and decency in this conversation. We are all entitled to speak our minds, but there is a way to do it and apparently Tiffany is lacking in the area. As I've stated, I'm a Free Black Woman and I'm going to be who I want to be rather than fitting into someone else's mold for me; henceforth, I think the real topic of this blog was to address the DOUBLE STANDARD that Black men have when it comes to them, but not Black women dating White Men.
For me, it's clear the Black men want to have their slice of the cake and then some. Why is this? Are Black women still chattel or the sole property of anyone except the Creator Himself, eh? I beg to disagree with Tiffany or any of those of her kind. I want to know why not just answer the question rather than attacking me? The truth is she and those in her klan can't because in actuality they have allowed the NOI to bamboozle them into sticking it out with men who don't know how to treat us and blame us for their inadequacies and weaknesses. This isn't all Black men, but the fact is we see far more Black men dating White women. It is these same Black men who tell Black women that they can't do the same.
Why is that?
I’m going to step out of this, so yall' can have at it... I don't have time to go through cat fights... if you want to comment on what I said please address your comments to me... I have two sistas as clients they are the biggest pains in the ass. And the one that flips off at the mouth is the one who is not paying. But what kills me is that when the other is along she always says she knew her friend was wrong. So I ask her why didn't you say something! She just says I don't know that’s just Tamika... You know how that sucks! To know your friend is wrong and you don't speak up in spite of the garbage that comes out of her mouth! I'm sorry I am not a black man enough to slap her and make her forget I did it in the bedroom. So I just dont need to come home to that kind of drama if I was to date a Black woman! Ciao 4 Now Gerard
You stated this: {" am about to write a re:re this blog to vent who and why I am receiving messages signed by "THE STAFF" FOR ME TO COME HERE AND JOIN THE CONVERSATION... }
The reason why they have been sending you and other messages because they want to get more people to visit the site. The color issues polarizies the "flock", former members have been absent for awhile. Blogs like these revive the "flock".
I did not receive a message because the administration does not like "ME" my candor, boldness.
As they daily come by my page to monitor my blogs and statements!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They don't like my musical video formats and political articles too!!!!
I'm glad too.....
However they are considered by their peers as the good people, me and you are considered troublemakers!
Also I don't care because I have never "went along to get along" in my entire life on this planet.
I tell the truth whether you like it or not.
The problem that some of our people have; ....... they lack candor, boldness (in the correct way), and truth.
It's all about the hits man!!!!
The advertisers demand it!!!!
@ Robert,
I agree with you regarding all the aliases that Siebra, Tiffany, or whoever she calls herself these days... Trifiling as usual... Anyway, I don't need to hide because I'm a free Black woman who can be who I wanna be.
What's up with the Trifiling so called Black women who attack other Black women who speak their minds and not that of NOI, eh.
@ Gerald,
You have issues trying to group every Black woman in a box as the same. I'll pray for you.
How do we know who is black or white? Are Italians and Greeks white? Are Arabs white? What about the thick lips and kinky blond hair on the dude who thinks he is white? How many crossed over? Does anyone have a count? I thought blood was red and transfusions work on all people of the same BLOOD type.
Another thing, Black men love to jump on the band wagon and browbeat Women for crossing some imaginary line. I have yet to hear the answer to my question that Jamal promised to answer when we had this same discussion. Have all of t he hot topics been dispensed with so now we have to repeat?
And who said that all black women in a relationship with a white man was raped, even during slavery. I know, that there was love in some of the relationships and the white men took care of their children ALL of them. It seems that the only people who do not have the stories straight are the Negroes and Whites from the North. If you talk to some of the people from the south, you MIGHT get a different story. Try it some times.
Now I want an answer to my question; Black men say they don't notice the color, she is a woman. All of that other stuff did not enter into the topic so, which is it? And why do they see color when it is the other way around.? I thought we were all the "same People".
@ Sister Thomasena,
[...Another thing, Black men love to jump on the band wagon and browbeat Women for crossing some imaginary line... Now I want an answer to my question; Black men say they don't notice the color, she is a woman. All of that other stuff did not enter into the topic so, which is it? And why do they see color when it is the other way around.? I thought we were all the "same People"....]
Thank you for your question and the answer is SIMPLE. My answer is that many if not most Black men are TRIFFLING! They like to think they are rare sought after commodities or "God's Gifts to Women". Many have mental health issues derived from unresolved Oepidus Complex that stem from being raised up in single household families. They love their mothers but at the same time despise being told what to do by them. It's a love-hate inner turmoil within them.
These men profess and undying love for their mothers and often mention their mothers as their inspiration when they make it big, but these are the same men who will marry nonBlack women or date exclusively nonBlack women while professing with their mouths how much they love and credit their mothers (HYPOCRISY at its HEIGHT). If that notion was truly the case, then one would think that they would have married someone who looked like their mothers.
Herein lies the unresolved ongoing conflict/saaga within the Black man attempting to reconcile their double mindedness withOUT profession help (because social stigmas won't allow them to go to shrinks) for fear of being called CRAZY. They hate their fathers while at the same time vowing to be better to their offspring than what their fathers were to them. We know that the seed doesn't fall far from the tree and this is why many times you see so many Black kids with Fathers MIA. DNA is the fabric that we are all cut from... Many of these Black men end up just like their fathers ... yet they want to tell Black women to do as I say but not as I DO knowing all the time that they are being dubious and double minded. To think there are Brained washed Black women (especially from NOI movement) who DOGMATICLY defend the actions of these men and even attack the FACTS even when its staring them in the face like a Big Ole' Blue Elephant right smack in the middle their living rooms. ((LOL))
For those Black men in America who think and behave in this manner, I have news for you ALL! Listen and listen well.... We (Black Women except those who belong to NOI) aren't your property so that you can continue to misuse, abuse, and disregard like ordinary rag dolls to be tossed out with the morning garbage whenever and wherever desired. Respect in mutual and not an entitlement right.
You heard me!
First let me say, How do we know that Richard is white? He may have a drop and if he does, he is black or so the white man says. lol We are still confused as to what is race and who makes it up and where to draw the lines. Some say that The president is not black. So if he isn't that another white man has made a black woman the FIRST LADY. (HA HA HA HA .
When we get to the liking stage of a relationhip, we have moved beyond the looking state and seeing the color of a man's skin. I don't think of Rich as a white man or my white friend. He is my friend and so is Steve. I base that evaluation on who they say they are, not the color of their skin. Steve looks like a black man anyway. smile) Once the relationship moves to the dating stage, then the people envolved are evaluating each other on a whole different level. Color and s*x has nothing to do with it. As far as I am concerned, "white man" is a philosophy not a race of man. We all belong to the human race.
All men, regardless of color want to rule their women and everybody else if they can. As men, there is very little difference between them. That is why I wrote that poem "Just A Man", As men, they all have some basic characteristics. The differences come from outside forces and I don't call it culture because in America, we have the same culture.
When we accept ourselves and our own personal mixtures, this dicussion will diminish. Fighting about which man is better and who has the fullest briefcase is luidicrest. When we are talking about person, if we use all we are in trouble. As an ethnic group, or a language group or a religious group ( i could go on), then we can lunp and then we need to exercise caution. Individually, we have no way of judging All unless we experience All.
I think that there is some validity in the primace that Black men are slapping back. But, and What about the white woman slapping back. Imagine how she felt when her man was sleeping with a "Non Human" just down the hall and having to look at her pregnant belly and half breed children running around her house every day? How about knowing that he perferred the slave to her? A black woman wouldn't put up with it. That is why the black man lies about his infidelities. White men have always desired the black woman but he didn't have the balls to step out and be honest.
How man of us ever thought about the safety of a free half white former slave? Could they have kept their off spring under the umbrella of slavery for protection? Since we do not appreciate paying for the crimes of the thugs in the black community, why should white people pay for the crimes of the pass? I will be the first to say that white privilage exist but, today, he does what he does to people of color because we let him. If is is true that Blacks can out best Whites in all endeavors, then Black need to get up off their DEAD A__ AND TAKE CHARGE JUST LIKE THEY DO IN OTHER THINGS. If i were white, I would be p_____ if you got somethin for nothing and I had to work for it. I don't like the idea that criminal can get a college degree for nothing while he is in prison and I had to pay for mine. I did what I was supposed to, kept my nose clean, worked hard and had to pay and he did none of that, broke the law got locked up and I had to pay for him too. What is the reward for doing it right?
I'm sure opposites attract but not just because of the color of a man's skin. There are other things. There are some black men who do not attract me at all like if he is too short. lol There are some things about white men that attracts me like if he walks down a hall like the President or looks at me like Sean Connery or has shoulders like Dwight Howard or legs like James Harden. lol. So neither of those attributes has anything to do with skin color.
Knowing who we are and accepting that and liking it is the answer. The blame game is dead. I believe that if man, white, black, grizzley or gray, prefers a white woman to me, he woulldn't understnd me any way and we could not get along, so she can have him.
Sunday, June 24th 2012 at 12:32PM
I believe that BOTH men and women of all races have deep seated psychological problems. LOL! The length of this thread proves it.
I don't care who you ladies and gentlemen date, marry, or eat bon bons with. Shucks! I don't even know you!
I don't evaluate my brothers' nor my sister's choice of partners. If they like frogs, then they probably like frog legs too! That is their prerogative.
Now, if I KNOW or SUSPECT that their dates are serial murderers, that is a whole nutha thing...
Great blog and may I add my 2 cents worth...every white male partner of the Black female has always treated her like a princess, a gueen...and the only time it seem the Black female gets the short end of the partner ship seem to be when the Black famous / powerful/ wealthy and the White male is not as in better shape then she is that the female seem to not get the queen, princess treatment...maybe because they don't allow their man role, but to just be a 'pretty, alwas avaliable when need to make her look perfect.....
"I" DO NOT DATE OUT SIDE OF MY RACE (in my dating days) I have no idea if it is racism or gender concern as I am of the female gender that gets me so, so upset when I see a Black male with a white female mate, partner, ect....
The males tend to treat their mates as something for them to rule/ control and they must never say they don't love the way they are being treated....
lets say when was it you had to walk a few steps behind your mate? have all within shouting ear drop you the female getting yelled at or maybe it is just making sure as many people as possiable know what a dunce you are..."you ordered the wrong thing"..I speak the truth when I say I don't know if this is my being a racist or being insulted as a female species...... when I am unlucky enough to happpen up on a Black male and his White female mate in public.(smile)
Thursday, April 10th 2014 at 6:47PM
"I" find your bringing up 'generation' sort of interesting. example, "I" fought just as hard at age 16 for the rights of our president's parents not to be hung or harmed out side of the American shores/ the state where his mother was born for loving our president's father as "I" do so today at age 69 for the rights of that interacial couple to be able to go into the HOUSE OF GOD (of their choice)THEY HAVE BEEN BANED FROM DOING IN 2011...
Thursday, April 10th 2014 at 6:47PM
@Jen, some people believe they know more about you than you know about yourownself...so as a rule I don't tend to say why I don't date out side of my race...I HAVE MADE THIS CHOICE BECAUSE MAINLY I NEVER WANT TO HAVE TO GO TO PRISON NOT TO COMMITT PREMEDIATED MURDER...
it would be premediated murder with my knowing if a person out side of my race becomes comfortable that they mean so much to me they can call me a ***** and actin gof this belief, then I will be guilty of doing exactly this...and me, I never go against my best interest for social acceptance or any other reasons. (smile)
@JEN, HAVE you read my blog on this site on 'why newt gingrich should be president"...the blog I just posted on our BIA site related to how we should read this blog and how it is related to blogs like this with our making thesekinds of comments that has resulted in the messages the president of NAACP is on Martin bashir@MSNBC explaining how these things have them out there campaigning for president on promises to take away our rights to vote... all over again?????
they want to get us off of the democrat plantation and voting for the wrong skin color!!!(NUP)
@uliseba, as Jen said her post go on the other BIA sites, so please watch for my next blog which will be dedicated to all who refuse to stop trying to get us to be our own worst enemy will be the title of my blog...you see I had planned to take some time of in memory of my sister who was buried today...but then I have retired from working to get equal justice for us by trying to do the things that the mission statement of these sites ask of us to try and do...but so far I have always had to come out of retirement just as my morning period was cut short...
I be much, much more important to share this little repeat of this story I have already shared with members of our sites. It is about how my sisters and brothers as myself had to fight many battles in school about who is welcomed here and who is not...who is judges to be fit as worthy or not due to the color of the skin, and without knowing about us being sisters and brothers or even caring past that white only/ black only color line...(OH AND YES THEI WAS NOT IN THE DEEP SOUTH IT WAS IN NORTH PHILLY)...
You see ulisheba if my (dead)sister was to be seen with Richard one would swear that she would be lying if she siad she was my sister and not Richard's sister by parents wise...
ulisheba, "I" call Richard my borthier Cow, because he is a member of my extended family and if you ulisheba have no idea what extended family MEANS ? DOES in my black race since the beginning... then I ask that you please, please, please go read a wonderful book by the name of "ON THE WINGS OF THE WIND" by Richard Kigel then please respond to me on my post as I am a member of this site and have been for years now!!!!!!!!
