In a bizarre chain of events, the witness testified, the accused couple befriended him and his girlfriend at the Sijan Plaza Restaurant back on Feb. 8, 2009. They acted like a caring and sincere couple, he said. While he can only remember "snapshots" of the evening in question, the alleged victim told the court the Vants invited him and his girlfriend back to their Cooksville apartment for drinks and food.
Soon after, the witness and his girlfriend began to vomit repeatedly, court heard. Despite this, the bewildered man continued to drink beer that he said was being supplied by the Vants. "I can't remember everything, even up until this day. I'm trying to piece together what happened and add it all up," he said. "I've never felt that way before. I can't explain it."
The man recalled seeing his girlfriend "grind" dancing with Marcia Vant and kissing her intimately, he testified. "I was enjoying watching it, but I was wondering what was going on in the back of my head," he said. (My partner) wasn't herself. She was care-free. She was drugged." The man conceded on the stand that he kissed David Vant. He also remembered Marcia Vant rubbing her behind on his face.
I couldn't really react to anything," he said. "If I was in a normal state, I would have pushed away." The boyfriend testified he woke up on the couch at one point with his girlfriend on top of him saying "protect me, protect me." He woke up later, this time with no shirt and his pants undone, and his girlfriend was gone. He found her in the bedroom with David Vant...
