Inherit the Nations (190 hits)

Daphne Crause

Psalm 2:8 – Ask of me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession.

How would you like to own a couple of nations? That seems like an impossibility in the natural doesn't it? But when the Lord showed me this Scripture I realized that it referred to the spiritual realm of course. This is an exciting verse. Think about it. It means that you can actively participate in getting hundreds of spiritual children.

So, how can you go about doing this? It's easy. By speaking blessing and shining the light on the nations of the globe. Maybe this seems too big a job or too much for you to do right now. I understand that. But you know, you can start small and just begin by praying for the local city or town where you live. When you're good at doing that, pray for the areas around you, like the different counties in your State. Then you can progress to the neighboring States.

We've seen the benefits of speaking blessing on our little town where we stay. When we first arrived it was a small, pretty dead, inactive place for most of the year. We wondered how people survived here because it was so quiet. But as we've continued to call it blessed, and continued to shine the light on it, we've seen this place boom and come alive right before our eyes. New roads, businesses, buildings and shops have sprung up, and many new housing complexes have been established to cater for the added influx of people. There are signs of the gospel spreading too, with new churches going up and others being expanded.

Not everyone can be a foreign missionary, and not everyone is called to evangelize full time on the streets. But you can make a difference for the Kingdom of God and bring blessing in your local area. And you can have an inheritance in other nations by praying for wisdom and blessing on missionaries, evangelists and other Christian workers, that people would come to know the Lord Jesus through their ministry.

Remember, "The light overcomes the darkness." Your words of blessing can begin to bring light to the area you're praying for. It will begin to remove the darkness and prepare people to be receptive to the gospel.

I want to encourage you before I end off now, to keep going. If the Lord leads you to pray for a particular place for revival and blessing, and nothing seems to happen, keep doing it. It is like a cork hitting an iron bar continually that's hanging from a tree.

As small as what the cork is, after continually pounding the bar, it begins to move. Don't ever think your prayers are stupid, insignificant or useless. They're pounding the kingdom of darkness and moving it away. You can make a difference!
