Religious Unity - Proper Preaching Pt 1 Rev Clay Evans, a Christian introduces the Hon. L. Farrakhan to church (500 hits)
...He expressed the need for unity among Christians and Muslims, Christians of different denominations and Muslim Sects. This comes form the lecture: Proper Preaching: The Way to Revive & Restore the People of God.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? I have heard this scripture come from pulpits regarding many things from choosing life partners to choosing churches and friends; but wisdom has taught me that no two people will always see things eye to eye which is the reason we can walk together as long as WE AGREE TO DISAGREE on things from time to time.
Having said that, I want to tell you of a very interesting conversation I had some time ago with some people who happened to be pastors as well as my relatives where I stated emphatically that I feel so comfortable with my relationship with God that I can sit amongst any denomination or attend a service with others whether it is in a mosque, temple, or synagogue.
I can't begin to convey to you the facial expressions that I received from these relatives, but I meant it every word of the statement. I'm at a place in my life where I've got my mind made up about what I believe and nothing can change that except that the Holy Spirit reveal it to me like he revealed to Peter who Jesus was--- the son of the Living God.
I realized that this blog might stir up some very different points of view and be the cause of religious debate, but just know that it isn't my intention. I realize that just the subject of religion brings up its own debate especially on forums/social networking sites like this looking at past blogs here. Ha!
Anyway to each his/her own, but I happen to agree with the Reverend on this matter that we have to rise above 'ism(s)' both Denominationism, Racism, and s*xism.
