In Memoriam: Reverend Benjamin Lawson Hooks, Civil Rights Leader, Government Official, Judge, & Lawyer (620 hits)
Thankful for the contribution and commitment of a multi-talented leader. Condolences to his wife of more than 50 years, Mrs. Frances Hooks, and daughter Patricia Gray.
"There are a lot of ways an oppressed people can rise. One way to rise is to study, to be smarter than your oppressor. The concept of rising against oppression through physical contact is stupid and self-defeating. It exalts brawn over brain. And the most enduring contributions made to civilization have not been made by brawn, they have been made by brain."
Thanks for sharing Nona! He's inspiring always with all his legacies of encouragements.
