I use these success principles on a daily basis and I find that my business has improved considerably since I started applying them. Essentially, they're rooted in plain ol' common sense and you know what they say about that. :-)
Keep Your Eyes on the Prize. No matter what happens, stay focused on your goal. Whenever I allow myself to worry too much about a problem, I find that the problem seems to get bigger than it really is. My mother's words echo in my ear "Worriation (is that even a word yet LOL) will carry you away from here." And it's true. When I finally sit down to tackle the problem and stop procrastinating, I realize it wasn't nearly as big or as difficult as I imagined. It's funny how deceptive your mind can be when you let it.
Expect that the road to success will be paved with obstacles. Things WILL get worse before they get better. But guess what? If you keep working consistently toward your goal, eventually you will get there. Be persistent and consistent.
You must always be advertising your business if you want clients. You must always take consistent action on a daily basis to get things done.
Every morning before you start working, review your to-do list. You did make one the night before, right? This will keep you on track and minimize distractions. Personally, I have ADD so I constantly have to work on this. What keeps me going? My vision board that I have in my office. I look at it every day especially when I hit a brick wall and am tempted to throw in the towel.
Reading other people's stories also helps me to see that I'm not the only one going through trials and tribulations. I just finished reading a moving story of one of my new colleagues. He relates how he created his website which receives thousands of hits daily. But it wasn't always like that. In fact, most of his friends wondered why he didn't just use his law degree to get a real job. His pregnant wife wasn't too happy with him either. Fortunately, though, Bruce perservered. Read his story here .
Keep your head up and keep reaching for the stars.
