I hear Success stories all the time. People bragging about what they got and what they did, while their children are suffering. Stung out on drugs, daughters having unwanted babies, thats not Success, thats Greed , Selfishness and Vanity. We leave our children to fend for themselves as we try to Please corporate america. Then once they get into something , we disown them , our very own Children. We're not talking about a stranger in the street , we're talking about flesh and blood , a part of Us, something we created. We don't even speak to our kids, walk around like driving a Benz is something to be proud of. We are messed up. Success means You , your children and your childrens children are taking care of . Did you tell your Child , You Love Them Today , do you know where your children are right now ?Do you even care where your children are right now? Whens the last time you 've been to a PTA Metting to see how your child is doing in school? Have you met you childs Teacher to see who they are learning from ? But you've got the Bling-Bling to show.

I say not necessarily because of the Nanny 911 shows I watch and being around other parents on a regular basis struggling with their kids.
I've found that in many cases that parents just don't know what to do with their children ( and maybe trying to use their own parent's way of parenting which aren't working for them) because like marriage they don't come with an instruction manual.
I want to add that One big thing I know is that children need a set routine to help them feel safe and secure. Just like adults need to know what's going on from one minute to the next --- so do kids.
Kids also like to bend the rules and test us so we must be consistent with them and help them understand that No means No every time consistently.
Kids need to be engaged in activities to help them learn life skills such as working in a group, working as a team, learning social skills, etc.
The last thing is that we must use positive discipline rather than negative discipline. In doing so we can provide options and solutions.
You are a good boy, but what you did wasn't good so let's think about what you could have done better. This encourages kids to think about the choices available to them and helps them to think critically early on.
