Their was a farmer that had 3 sons.He raised them on a farm and gave them the Morales and Principles to achieve in life. He sent them to the best schools in the country. Yale or Harvard , I believe it was. All three graduated in the top 1% of their class. Upon graduation they went to work at a shipping yard. This made the Father proud. One day the Father was sitting at the kitchen table and fumbling through the mail, he notice his sons check stub. They all where different , one made $500 a week, one made $1000 a week and one made $1500 a week. Enraged because he knew each of his sons were equally qualified, he storms down to the shipping yard. When he arrives, he burst through the owners door demanding an explanation. The owner listened to the father and said " Have a seat Sir and i'll show you why" He called the first son. He said " David a plane has just arrived and I need you to go down and inventory it for me" . David says " Yes Sir". 15 minutes later David calls the owner and says " Sir, I called down to the yard master and he said , the plane has 300 pounds of silk, 400 bamboo trees and 1000 pounds of sugar". The owner says " Thank-you David" . The owner then calls the second son, "Hey Daniel, a plane has just arrived and I need for you to go down and inventory it for me", Daniel says " Yes Sir". An hour and a half later Daniel calls the owner. " Sir I went down to the plane and it has 300 pounds of silk, 400 bamboo trees and 1000 pounds of sugar. The owner says " Thank-you Daniel" the owner then calls the last son " Hey Darren, a plane has just arrived and I need you to go down and inventory it for me. Daniels says " Yes Sir" . 3 hours later Daniel calls the owner and says " Sir I went down to the plane it has 300 pounds of silk which I sold to the marketers for $4.95 a pound. Its has 400 bamboo trees , I sold 250 of them for $16 a tree ,150 of them were damaged so i'm sending them back . And their is 1000 pounds of sugar and I have a buyer on the way. The owner says "Thank-you Darren". He hangs up the phone ,looks at the Father who is sitting their steaming from the collar. The owner says "Do you now see why each makes a different amount" and the Father says " No", the owner says " Okay, one son does not do what he's told. One son does what he is told and one son does without being told"
It is true that we all have been given different abilities and thus have different talents. I like the last son who went over and beyond what he was asked to do. I tend to be that kind of worker.
