When will we change our ways? I am so sorry about what happened to the Haitians. It is never good to see anyone get hurt and prayers go out to the people of Haiti.
I am just amazed and cannot help but keep it real. Karma is real people. We cannot live our lives thinking that we can go around doing as we want to others. An attorney asked me how I felt the other day about how the Haitians were behaving in the crisis. I couldn't help but explain the views as I truly see them. As a Psychiatric Counselor, I completely understand and place no fault necessarily on people who do not handle trauma well, but in a crisis the strong should always hold together the weak. For example, in New York City and on both occasions, I witnessed New Yorkers come together and pull people together who fell apart when they saw the towers go down. Even more when the Black Out happened, I was one of those under the subway tunnel and when I came above ground I witnessed people offering to help the elderly get home and providing food and water because the heat was excruciating... There is no excuse to the behaviors going on. But I also had to tell the attorney that these people can blame their behaviors on the stress behind the catastrophe but for those of you who don't know, there was always a lot of violence and abuse happening in Haiti before this Earthquake occurred. What was the excuse then?
