"And He said to all, if any person will is to come to Me, let him deny himself of himself (disown himself forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself) and take up his cross daily and follow Me (cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and if need be, dying also).", Luke 9:23
God expects you and me both to be responsible and take care of what He gives us; husbands, children, duties, careers, including ourselves (His temple). We are required to be finishers not procrastinators. Pressing pass our own wants and desires sometimes as well as not allowing feelings and emotions to paralyze us in anyway. Stopping us from doing our jobs, handling our personal and professional business or accomplishing our goals and fulfilling our Divine Destines.
Where would the world be if Christ had given into doubt, disbelief, fear or plain old laziness, during His brief stay here. Just image if He, woke up on that appointed day, He was destined to bear our sins on the cross and decided to sleep in or better yet, flaked out and did not show up all together. But instead He chose not to by pass the pick up window, faithfully He picked up the bitter pills issued in His name and bore them to blood in the garden of Gethsemane, then on to Calvary, where He sacrificed His life for us all..
The least we can do is answer when God calls by name; Wife, Husband, Mother, Father, Daughter, Son, Sister, Brother, Friend, Lover, Co-worker, Employee, Servant and last but not least Beloved Child of God...your cross is ready, at window #7.
Redemption is yours...that's what Christ died on the cross for, Mommy Dearest
