This production is compelling, powerful and riveting. It is the previously silenced and misrepresented voice of the average everyday Iraqi citizen affected by the 2003 American Invasion of Iraq. The play was assembled from actual interviews with displaced Iraqi refugees residing in Jordan. The stories they tell about their respective lives before and after the invasion touch the heart, soul, and mind of the theatergoer. Aftermath gives a human voice and face to people whom our American government and media presented as the “enemy”. Aftermath is currently at The New York Theatre Workshop.
